Re: What's for dinner!

  • What's the recipe?!  Let me know if it's any good!

I'm not sure what we're having... but, I'm thinking grilled chicken and corn on the cob!  I love reading these treads.  I need major cooking inspiration!

RANCH CHICKEN Combine: 3/4 cup crushed cornflakes. 3/4 cup parmesan cheese. 1 packet of hidden valley ranch dressing mix. Dip 8 chicken halves in melted butter and then roll in cornflake mix. Place in greased 9x13 pan. Bake @ 350 for 45 min.

  • These threads depress me, haha.  H and I aren't big cookers.  Half the time I'm too exhausted from work to eat much...much less cook a meal!  However, one of these weeks I'm going to start.  I told myself after the wedding that every week I'd pick one new recipe and we'd pick up the ingredients when we went grocery shopping like we always do Sunday evening.  So hopefully next week we'll have at one real meal during the week!  One meal doesn't sound like a lot, esp. after reading all the stuff you guys make, but baby steps my friends.

And even a terrible cook like myself has made this before (something really similar) and it is DELICIOUS!

  • I'm making this recipe I found on Pinterest:

"OMG Chicken" Greek Yogurt (1/2 c) and parm cheese (1/4 c). Spread over chicken breast in a baking dish, sprinkle italian bread crumbs on top and bake for 20-30 minutes.

I was originally planning on leftovers but it's supposed to be 90 later this week which will be way too hot to cook!

  • I cooked ALL weekend for get-togethers, so tonight's meal is up to H... i told him last night as he was enjoying his spaghetti, garlic bread, and fresh corn on the cob that it was his turn to be brilliant.... lol... this could get interesting.... i'll let you know what he comes up with!! oh, and the ranch chicken sounds AWESOME! definitely will be stealing that one :)

  • Pasta, sauce with ground turkey (instead of ground beef), and garlic bread.

We're moving in a month, so I'm trying to get as much stuff out of our cabinets/freezer as possible. This kills FOUR things!

H doesn't cook at all. And I've never been a cooker either. I'm not usually all that hungry after work and don't ever feel like cooking either. I'm so with you on the baby steps! I'm trying as well!

  • I've actually been quite impressed with my efforts to cook since the wedding (since I am not working, its my job for the interm...even though H is probably a better cook!)

Tonight we are having pasta with leftover chiken thrown in, and either a green salad or corn on the cob, whichever H decides he wants more.

  • I was running late from work and hubby had a mri so we just threw hot dogs on the grill.  Nothing interesting.
