So this seems totally ridiculous, especially for me, but I'm seriously struggling to spend my williams sonoma gift card! I'm such a shop a holic that I go shopping (usually window shopping) or bargain hunting to relax when I'm stressed out. I'm great at making purchases for the most part. We have $150 to spend at williams sonoma and I cannot for the life of me figure out what to do with it. If anyone is bored enough to want to help me out...
I want a French countryside inspired kitchen, and with the $150 I thought plates would be a good place to start. I fell in love with these but I'm uncertain about the color now:

I love the honey, in person it's a very soft and pretty yellow. The white is nice too, but I thought I wanted more exciting dishes than just plain white. But what if I get tired of the yellow in a couple of years?
Then I fell in love with this pattern for table linens:

And I thought the yellow would look nice with those, but would the white look better and more timeless?
I've also always wanted yellow walls in my kitchen. Would the yellow dishes be too much with all that yellow?
Maybe I could just avoid all of this and just buy a nice flatware set that would be cohesive with many styles.
Thanks for your input ladies!
Re: Help me pick out my kitchen!
I love the plates! I actually know a lot of couples that bought white dishes - they are timeless like you said, and if you aren't in your "forever" home yet you never really know if the yellow is going to clash or not. Might be a lot of yellow if you have yellow walls. Or you might fall in love with a house with a totally modern kitchen where your original plan just might not mesh very well. I love my kitchen now but it totally isn't what I pictured it would look like!
I'd hold off on the table linens for the same reasons...and they aren't as practical as dishes or flatware. So I vote for dishes or flatware!
