good morning tgit!

yup Tuesday. Why?  I don't know but happy to have woken up in my bed on a Tuesday.  Yes, I need to get out more.

So what is new and exciting?  Me? I am a commitment-phobe. Yes, I knew J 6 months before walking down the aisle and 7 years later we are still married. Um, paint?  tile? flooring?  I had a panic attack when my FIL called to tell me he was picking our tile yesterday......the same tile I picked out and swooned over.    I need to paint the half bath this week and cannot settle on a color.   And all those boxes of hardwood floors sitting in the living room.... yeah I am doubting the stain on that as well.  J told me there is no way on God's green earth that he is return the flooring.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Re: good morning tgit!

  • YES!

But I like to think that once I make a decision, I happily stick with it. I've known my husband 30 years and we're married almost 9 years. See - once I commit, I keep it around a long time :)

Colors and materials take me forever to choose - I'm always afraid it's wrong, or I'll hate it, and it's not so easy to replace your tile after 3-4 years if you don't like it anymore. Paint - easier, but still a PITA. I had dh repaint our master after 3 years - he was less than thrilled, but at least he agrees that this color is so much better!

What sort of color scheme are you aiming for? I can tell you what we've used (some of which i've used in both homes so i know i love it!)

  • image  this is the floor tile, I am also adding white wainscotting and wanted a blue-ish grey.  Light and airy.  Something neutral-ish.  The room is small and I going for that old cottage look.

  • I have a blue-ish grey in my half bath in my bedroom. I can look up the color when I get home if you're interested! I know it's Benjamin Moore.

  • thanks and please Jezz!  I thought Quicksilver by SW was the one but it had green undertones.   I think if i buy one more sample pot of paint J will have me put away.

  • i've used benjamin moore beacon gray in both my homes - it's a very light blue with a gray undertone, so light and airy and gorgeous. both times it started as guest room office and transformed into a little girl's room - the office was gray and black and white and this wall color, the first baby room was this blue with lots of ladybug red and green and white accents and the second time it was a birdie/owl/flower light colors added with a cream carpet.
