Day trip to Normandy from Paris
Has anyone taken a day trip to Normandy from Paris? DH really wants to spend a day in Normandy during our upcoming Paris trip, but I'm wondering whether a one-day trip is feasible. Viator offers a guided tour, which I'm not opposed too, but it's over $200 per person. TIA for any advice you have!
Re: Day trip to Normandy from Paris
I'm assuming he wants to see the D-Day beaches. You can take an early train from Paris to Caen and then the Memorial in Caen has a whole day setup The D-Day Tour (pickup at train station, lunch, tour museum and then actually going out to the D-Day sights). It's 111 euros per person and train tickets vary (just looking randomly they look to be about 40 euros roundtrip per person), so it would be a little less to do it this way than to use the Viator tour.

Skip the beaches tour and go see Mont St Michel. You should be able to find tours but when I went, I just took the train and got myself there via a taxi from the train station. It wasn't too difficult. If you can, I would try to spend one night there. It is a beautiful area and you might like to spend a little more time the next day wandering about before catching a later train back.
