Group Fitness Shoes

I'm looking for a good athletic shoe that has cushion and support.  I mostly do cardio kickboxing and zumba and it would be nice to have a shoe that works well for both (enough support for kickboxing and good pivoting for zumba).  I have already tried Nike Musique and really liked my grey/ silver ones which are now totally worn out, but they stopped making that color and I don't like the white or black ones.  I also just tried the Rykas and they are ok, but a little bit too lightweight and the part above your toe is kind of hard.  Sometimes they seem too slippery as well.  I have problems with the bottom of my feet just below my toes getting rubbed out if there isn't enough cushion there.  Any recommendations?  Thanks!

Re: Group Fitness Shoes

  • Are you having any issues with pains/injuries? If not, you can just continue to go to the department or athletic store, try on shoes and find something that feels good. If you are having some pains and aches, I'd go to a running/walking store and get fitted for a pair of shoes. The shoes will be around the $100 mark, but they will feel great on your feet and last quite awhile.

I personally prefer Asics. Nike shoes tend to be a bit too narrow in the toes for me.

  • I probably am the worst person to ask about this because when it comes to Zumba, as long as it is a lightweight shoe is fine for me. I have running shoes for running, none for yoga and light weight crosstrainers or older running shoes for other activities like Zumba. It is a matter of trying on different shoes and seeing what feels the best.

  • I do a lot of kickboxing (Body Combat) and Zumba, so I wear a cross training shoe.  I am partial to Nike and am in need of a new pair myself.  I've been looking at the Nike Free TR Fit 2; I've tried it on and like the way it fits/feels, but haven't bought it yet because I can't decide on a color LOL!
