My husband was laid off from hsi position last week that he had been in for over 7 years, due to slow company workload. He had what he thought was a great interview last Thursday, where they said he was the only candidate they were looking at, asked when he could start, and he thought they made it sound like they would be calling Friday with an offer. Problem is, no call came. At this point would it be pushy to call late this afternoon if he has not heard anything, and reiterate that he is still very interested in the position, and was wondering where they are in the process? He is not keeping all of his eggs in one basket, and has his resume out other places, but with his job loss, we are both just very nervous and would like to know one way or the other, so if he does not get an offer, he can focus on other possibilities. Any advice?
Re: Calling to check on status of possible job offer?
i agree that it's okay to call and ask.
i interviewd for a job in March and they said they'd call that afternoon. I didn't hear from them when they said, so I waited a day and called them myself. I was told they would decide by the end of that day. They actually called one of my references and she text me right away to tell me. then i got a call and was offered the job. it never hurts to ask.
