Trying to lose weight...HELP!!
I don't know if anyone else is having the same problem, but I can NOT seem to lose weight! I count my calories and use myfitnesspal.com to track other nutrients like sodium, sugar, fat, etc. I also exercise several times a week... I do zumba 2 to 3 time per week plus yoga once a week...and I'm just having no luck! So thoughts would be great! Has anyone tried a weightloss aid they have had good luck with. I'm not looking for a quick fix, and am doing and will continue doing the work...just need some help to stay motivated and see the changes start!
Re: Trying to lose weight...HELP!!
Hey, I was on Mirena and gained a ton of wieght - about 30lbs in 3 1/2 months. So I understand how losing weight can be tough, frustrating, and at times you want to give up. I track my calories as well and also do Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred - I do level 1 in the morning and levels 2 & 3 at night after work. It is a slow process but I have lost about 5 lbs in 3 weeks. Just keep tracking and try to be stress free.
It will all come together.

You might do all those things, but how well are you doing them?
What does your caloric intake look like each day? (total AND net would be most useful)
What are the % of carbs/fat/protein/fiber ?
The other question is, how close are you do your ideal weight? The closer you get, the harder it is to lose. Are you checking just pounds, or measurements/bf% ?
5 pounds in three weeks is not slow IMO! Have you seen how much 5pounds actually IS?!
Also, zumba 2-3 times a week is great and all.. but you need more than that. those are, what, 50minute classes? You should be getting way more cardio in if you have a desk job, are in school, are a SAHW/M, etc.
You aren't doing any lifting, so it's time to add strength training to your routine. I know most women don't enjoy lifting, but it becomes fun/addicting, and is a must to be in great shape.
Yoga isn't going to help with weight loss. During yoga, your metabolism actually slows down. I'm not saying it's not great for you, because it is (I'm working on getting certified as an instructor so BELIEVE me I'm not bashing yoga!) but in different ways that are not necessarily fat burners. Yoga will not help you drop pounds, but doing it multiple times a week will help with your sleep, stress control, muscular endurance in some areas, balance, and flexibility which will all lead to a more fit person. It just won't melt your fat away
Do you do any weight training?
Muscle eats fat.
Also when you run a lot or do a lot of cardio your body becomes trained to store carbohydrates (carbs give you energy), so when you do a lot of cardio you should definitely be mixing it with weight training.
