sneaky real estate agent or bad luck?

I spend most of my time on the bump but just recently found this board.  We just put our house on the market a few days ago and something interesting happened that I was hoping to get some input on.  So, has anyone heard of a real estate agent sabotoging another house by, say, parking an "abandoned" car in front of the house?  I only ask because in all the years I have lived here there has never once been a car parked in front of my house and yet only a few days after my house goes on the market, here one is, with no sign of an owner.  I called the police and it's not been reported as stolen but it wouldn't make sense for a visitor to a neighbor to be parked in this spot (since at least 7am).  I understand that at this point the car is not illegal, it can be there for up to 72 hours AFTER the police tag it which can take 3-6 days to happen.  Then after 72 hours it can be ticketed and then put on the list for impound.  But, impound can take up to 6 months to tow the car away!!  Any thoughts or ideas on what we can do?  I guess please keep your fingers crossed that someone just ran out of gas and comes back for it or that it's reported stolen so that the police will tow it more quickly!

Re: sneaky real estate agent or bad luck?

  • It sounds like coincidence. Having been a seller recently, I know how it is easy to become highly watchful and concerned about all the little possibilities.

Curious. What type and age of car is it? Is it a POS?

Many schools just let out. Could it be the car of a neighbor's child home from college or a recent graduate living at home?
