Talk to me about Spark People
So I had a serious wakeup call yesterday while shopping for back to work clothes. I tried on a pair of pants, asked for the next size up and the girl says, "Oh they don't make a larger size, that's the biggest one." For someone who was a size 6 this time last year, that was a big kick in the (wide) butt. Clearly this baby weight is not coming off on its own.
Sooo...I've heard some ladies on here talk about Spark People - tell me all about it!

Re: Talk to me about Spark People
I am a sparkpeople member and found it very helpful awhile back, although haven't used it in ages. I just used it to track what I ate every day and made sure I stayed within a certain calorie range, but there are forums and other features as well. I did lose the 10 lbs that I wanted to drop and would definitely recommend it.
I know bunnybean has had success with it so I'm sure she'll weigh in (pun intended, sorry, I couldn't help it!).
Bridey, I'm doing the same thing! I did WW several years ago and lost about 25 lbs. I had been maintaining within a few pounds for a few years, but my back injury, chronic pain, and subsequent surgery -- plus, I must admit, some laziness and indulgence as a result of being sad about said back injury -- has led to my packing on around 10 pounds. It's just disgusting. I can't fit in half my clothes right now, and I've been having a tough time getting motivated to do anything about it. But I decided to rejoin WW online, b/c that's where I always have success.
AND I went to the pool today for the first time in a few weeks! Yay!
Ultimately, whatever tool you use, the accountability of journaling is key to any successful weight loss. Something about having to write it down makes me think twice. And it saves me from forgetting that I indulged at something during lunch when I want an afternoon snack.
Aww, that's so nice! Thanks!
