We went to look at a house on Sunday morning, and even though the selling agent had told them to leave, they had not. They also had not cleaned or decluttered at all, and they even left their dog running around the house while we were there (I am terrified of unfamiliar dogs). I was very uncomfortable with this showing, especially since the sellers said they would not leave the master bedroom. HELLO? The MB is one of the most important things to me. We passed on this one.
Really people. Do not list your house if you are not willing to cooperate when someone wants to see it.

Re: Mad at sellers
Nope. It was a private seller.
They would prbably be PITAs anyway to deal with even if they had left the house. Wow.
What did your agent tell you about it?
The price wasn't even that great. It was the same list price as the one we made an offer on in the same neighborhood, and it wasn't nearly as nice. Actually, it was in pretty crappy condition, and I doubt it would have passed inspection, anyway.
Maybe they had some unfortunate circumstances as to why they couldn't leave? I know we looked at a house right after a bad snow storm. Unfortunately they lost power (like most people in our area) so the owner stayed to make sure everything was running smoothly. But he stayed out in the garage, and when we went out to look there he went outside with the generator.
But this doesn't really sound like the case, they prolly just didn't want to sell. Sorry! But you'll know when you find the right house. It took us almost 9 months but we did.
