How's this for random: I put perfume on in my car before work, and I had a glass bowl sitting in my front seat for my breakfast. As I eat my cream of wheat this morning....all I can taste is perfume. The only explanation I can think of is that it floated over and landed on my bowl in the car. LOL SOooo.... now that my breakfast is ruined, I'm going to go to the vending machine and get a breakfast sandwich....there goes my healthy eating today.
Re: Thursday Randoms!
Yuck, perfume scented breakfast wouldn't be good.
Today I'm bringing the kids to a friends house for a few hours. I have to get bloodwork done for my phyiscal next week. Then I have some other stuff to get done around the house.
I also have to stop by the golf course that ruined my father's day present to my hubby. I made a tee time reservation three weeks ago for last Saturday. I was told there was a golf outing in the afternoon but that the morning was open. My husband's friend showed up and he was told that the course for closed for outings all day. What golf courses shuts down on a Sat for outings. Most outings are on their off days. All I get out of this is a refund on the gift certificate I purchased. Jeez, way to say sorry.
Boo, this would have ticked me off!!
I woke up not knowing what day it is. Yesterday I didn't eat until almost 4pm and I think I'm feeling the effects of that today.
I have a few errands this morning before we head into the office. Tonight I'm meeting a friend to brainstorm some ideas for her cancer free party.
Well all is good here for now. Dropped off paperwork to lawyer last night and went to counseling. I found out that I have to do a endoscopy with a capsule camera on 7/16 so I have to do the prep work again like I was doing a colonoscopy - blah
!
After that appointment, I have to run to SOS and get plates and whatnot for my "new" car. It's so nice to have a car again.
Then off to pick my daughter up from my parents. Hoping it doesn't rain since we set up the pool yesterday and she is really excited to swim.
A lot of them do actually. My H plays in a few all day corporate Saturday outings during the summer. Guaranteed sale for the course I guess. I would have been pissed though too especially since they said they had openings. I would have made a bigger stink and gotten an extra 9 with a cart, and free lunch! I'm a B like that though. Heck, I would have driven up there with the kid and complained in person.
Does anyone have a garden this year? How is it doing?
We are doing heirloom and sweet 100 tomatoes, yellow squash, zucchini, hungarian hot peppers, basil, romaine lettuce sweet peas and cukes. I can't wait to start eating all the delish homegrown stuff!
I planted my pumpkin plants yesterday! I hope they do well. I also have a large potted tomato plant. I forgot to water it yesterday. Oops.
I just got back from a conference in Chicago. It was a lot of fun, and I wondered why I don't go there very often. The only bummer thing is the rental car place says there was damage on the bumper . . . which I totally did not see, nor did I hit anything,so my only guess is that something happened when the valet had it since I didn't drive it at all, just from GR to the hotel and then the hotel back to GR. Hoping my work covers it. Grrr.
My garden: The herbs are doing great. I lost count of how many I had; I just got some from friends and bought some here and there. I have an area around a birdbath that I'm trying to fill with perennial herbs, filling in gaps with annuals.
Next to that I have a lettuce bed with a few radishes. The radishes didn't ever develop bulbs so I picked them but the greens are delicious. I've had one big cutting and it's due for another one. I also need to replant something where the radishes were.
Next to that I have a squarish bed in front of daylilies and delphiniums. I have carrots, kohlrabi, kale, and cabbage growing there. So far so good. Did I mention that most of the beds I lined with marigolds? I know it's an old wives tale but it seems to keep the bunnies away!
Then I have a corner with Swiss chard, snow peas, snap peas, and fava beans. The peas JUST started, they are so tasty. The swiss chard was eaten down by rabbits (before I planted the marigolds) so I have to replant something. Behind that corner I have planted some melons and potatoes. The potatoes are doing great, not sure if the melons will come up though.
Then I have a long stretch between our yard and the neighbor's. The rhubarb and nasturtium are doing well but I'm not sure the asparagus made it. Will find out next year.
Then on the corner of our yard I have a teepee for cucumbers but they don't seem to be coming up. May need to replant. Eggplant is doing OK, amaranth is OK but the lambs quarters are doing awesome ;-) (that's a weed, but at least it's an edible weed!). Also have melons there if they survive the rabbit gnawing.
In the OTHER corner of our yard (sorry this is turning into a book) I have beans, pole beans on a teepee, tomatoes, peppers, fennel, patty pan squash and cosmos. I have a jalapeno pepper already (it came with the plant, actually) and some tomatoes are forming.
In the backyard I have winter squash in a raised bed, plus some flowering broccoli that may or may not be done for. I need to replant something there.
But they are closed pretty much EVERY Sat and this is the city-run course that is operated through the parks and rec dept. The same course that is complaining they are losing moey. Umm..maybe since you are not building up a clientel. People looking to golf on a weekend have to go elseway.
Good Morning!
I'm jealous of you ladies and your gardens. Our herbs in our deck railing planters are doing very well but that's all I've got. I think next year we may venture into a small raised bed.
Yesterday I finally figured out how to play softball again (after some very subpar performances in my first few games). Well, I still can't throw but at least I can hit. I had to be Andy's pinch runner too so essentially I spent most of the time "running" not really "playing softball." :-P
So would like a cheering squad. The girls want to go watch a baseball game -like a regular co-ed team.
We were at the park and there was game going on. They wanted to stay and watch the game. I told them I would try to find someone who played on a team. If your team's color was purple, even better. ha ha.
Fans are always welcome! It's funny because our "fans" are usually dogs (Toby, a husky puppy, a Visla and sometimes a Golden Retriever) and maybe a couple of random spouses. Most of the other members on the team either have grown kids or babies, no in between that would come to a game and cheer. And unfortunately no purple - we don't have a formal uniform at all - we're Team Beers and the extent of our coordination is wearing a beer related t-shirt.
baa haa!! I can see the girls.... "go beer, go beer!!""
HOW WONDERFUL. Maybe it would be best if we all stopped watching the news. Ugh
No, it would not.
I think if Toby and a Golden were at a game, Mia might not notice a game.
That is a little lady who loves "puppies!"
I don't have a lot to add to today's randoms. Just stopping by to say hello.
Mia would be in HEAVEN!! Juli, you might just have to share your schedule with me.
