  • favorite restaurant for date night: I haven't been there in a long time, but trattoria downtown is really good (italian).

favorite activity for a family afternoon outing: we like the science museum in OKC. The children's museum in seminole is fun too. Of course there is always going to the park (love lake hefner's park for little ones), and swimming/splash pads). White water is fun for older kids.

favorite place to run, if you're a runner: not sure where you are, but I love running at lake hefner. I also run at wild horse park in mustang a lot (because it's close).

good brunch place: pearl's lakeside (it's not called that anymore .... I think it's just called "Lakeside"), rococo's (in northpark mall)

anything else i must see/do/eat in OKC: college football games are always fun, as are thunder games.

  • I think Trattoria closed...sad face. That place was really good.

I live in Stillwater but spend a LOT of time in OKC [mainly because my sister lives there], so I'll throw in some of mine:

favorite restaurant for date night: Another for Red Prime.
favorite restaurant for family dinner: Ted's is where we normally go.
fun place for a weekend getaway: Dallas. I go there way too much on weekends - not a bad drive from OKC.
favorite activity for a family afternoon outing: Definitely the zoo. We love that place.
favorite place to shop (mall, shopping area, etc): Penn or the outlet.
favorite place to run, if you're a runner: I got nothin'. My sister runs at Lake Hefner a lot, she says.
fun activities for kids: Same that others have mentioned already.
best place for happy hour/cocktails: We go to Louie's or, at night, Mantle's.
good brunch place: 1492. Their food is bomb.
anything else i must see/do/eat in OKC: Yes. You have GOT to check out the Memorial. And try to go to some sporting events [Redhawks, Thunder, college football/basketball, Barons] - those are always fun. The arts district is pretty cool, too - as is the big arts festival every spring.

These aren't necessarily my "favorites" but just suggestions of what we like or you might like.

favorite restaurant for date night: Norman: Victoria's, Benvenuti's

OKC: Cheever's, Cafe do Brasil, and I would also suggest Deep Fork or Rococo. I'm not a steakhouse person. Republic and Upper Crust aren't fancy, but I like the food.

favorite restaurant for family dinner: Hideaway, Coach's, Irma's, Mama Roja's

fun place for a weekend getaway: Tulsa or Dallas, if you want to eat/shop. The Beaver's Bend area can be pretty if you want to spend time outdoors. There's always hiking/camping in the Wichita Mountains.

favorite activity for a family afternoon outing: museums, zoo, any of our seasonal festivals

best place for happy hour/cocktails: We're really laid back and go to casual places like The Library in Norman, or McNellie's or Louie's in OKC.

    good brunch place: Norman: Seven47

    Edmond: Cafe 501

  • favorite restaurant for date night: I'm a fan of Paseo Grill and Deep Fork Grill. Good atmosphere, good food, a little more upscale than we usually do (i.e., reservations recommended), but still reasonably priced.

favorite restaurant for family dinner: Hideaway Pizza

fun place for a weekend getaway: Dallas, Wichita Mountains, Turner Falls/Arbuckle Mountains

favorite activity for a family afternoon outing: n/a-I don't have kids

favorite place to shop (mall, shopping area, etc): I generally go to Penn Square Mall.

favorite place to run, if you're a runner: I'm not, but some of my coworkers like running at Lake Hefner.

    fun activities for kids: n/a

best place for happy hour/cocktails: Belle Isle Brewery has great prices on locally brewed beer if you like that. I'm not sure about their cocktail specials.

good brunch place: I never go out for brunch, but some of my coworkers says Cheevers is amazing.

anything else i must see/do/eat in OKC: I like the art museum downtown. They're supposed to have a great exhibit on glass right now that I want to go see, plus they have a small movie theater than shows independent films several times a week. We also have some good local festivals- Festival of the Arts, Paseo Arts Festival, Blues & BBQ, etc. If you're here for the 4th of July, the Philharmonic puts on a free "Red White and Boom" concert outside in downtown with fireworks at the end.

favorite restaurant for date night: West, 1492, Red Prime, S&B (not at all fancy, but holy crap I love that place), Picasso, Paseo Grill, Republic

favorite restaurant for family dinner: Iguana, S&B,

fun place for a weekend getaway: Tulsa, Dallas

favorite activity for a family afternoon outing:

favorite place to shop (mall, shopping area, etc): Penn Square

favorite place to run, if you're a runner: Lake Hefner or Nichols Hills

    fun activities for kids:

best place for happy hour/cocktails: S&B (basically I go there all the time), Louie's (I the one on Lake Hefner or Western - but they're closest to me), McNellies, Ludivine,

good brunch place: 1492, Sophabella's. For more of a greasy breakfast, get the biscuit debris at Classen Grill

anything else i must see/do/eat in OKC: Shakespeare in the Park, First Fridays in Paseo, IAO art shows, Deadcenter film festival (you just missed it), art museum, Cowboy Hall of Fame, myriad gardens, Plaza District.

  • I'm late to the party, but feel like answering anyway...

favorite restaurant for date night: Sushi Neko, Rococo, Cheever's, Iron Starr

favorite restaurant for family dinner: Texas Roadhouse, Hideaway

fun place for a weekend getaway: Tulsa, the Talimena Scenic Byway

favorite activity for a family afternoon outing: the zoo, Pelican Bay (Edmond), the movies, the library

favorite place to shop (mall, shopping area, etc): I like Penn Square Mall. Still trying to figure out Edmond shopping options.

favorite place to run, if you're a runner: I'm definitely not a runner, but I'm sort of a wannabe. I used to LOVE jogging through Nichols Hills. There are a few parks on Grand where you can park your car, then run around the neighborhood. It's lovely. I vastly prefer jogging in a pretty neighborhood to running around Lake Hefner (and it's less windy).

fun activities for kids: the library, Pelican Bay, Frontier City, the zoo

best place for happy hour/cocktails: Upper Crust, VZD's, Edna's, Speakeasy, Belle Isle.

good brunch place: Cafe Kacao is AMAZING. It's Guatemalan, and you must try it. Classen Grill is pretty legit, too.
