Flight into Rome, departing from Switz.??
My sister and I are trying to plan a trip to Europe in October. We will be there for 10 days and would like to visit Italy and Switzerland while we are there. I'm trying to find flights that arrive and depart from different locations, but it seems like you take a really big $$ hit to depart from a different location. Does anyone have experience with this?
Re: Flight into Rome, departing from Switz.??
How much time would suggest on a departure flight? What do you thinkt he time frame on an arrival will be once we are off the plane, customs, and claiming luggage prior to heading to the pier to get on the Navigator? I think DH pulled train schedules for a 12:00PM departure to the pier (we land in Rome at 9AM).
Glad I read this .....
Mrs. B - We landed at 9:40 and were on a train around noon so that should be fine. Just head to the train and go to the newsstand or a machine to buy tickets.
Heading home from Rome took much longer. The international terminal we left from required walking from train to outside main terminal, bus to int'l terminal, through customs, through security, onto another bus to actual terminal, and then walk to gate. Plan to get there 2 1/2 hrs to be on the safe side I'd say.
You might also check the trains and see if that gets you to/from a better airport choice.
