Trying to start our lives
Re: Trying to start our lives
WTF. A lot of us struggled or are struggling with crappy jobs (or no jobs), student loan debt and high cost of living. I don't see the point of expecting people to hand out money to you when you have done nothing to earn it.
My advice-- try and find a second job, save in every way you can, and put off a wedding until you are financially stable. I am 30 and up until a year ago, I worked a 2nd and a sometimes 3rd job to ensure that we were financially stable. I would never dream of asking people to just give me money bc I have student loans.
This!!! I can't believe you would post a site to try to raise money! Everyone is struggling to some degree! I have worked soo hard to get where I am today with no help and I would never dream of asking people online to give me money!

I answered on one of the other four posts you put up. I wanted to just add something. I am one of those people who will happily donate food, clothes, etc, to someone who has major money troubles. But it's not cool to go around asking for cash. Not cool. It puts you in a horrible light and just makes people not want to give you anything.
I have to ask..what made you think this was okay to do?
I don't swear a lot because it's not very lady like, but B*TCH PLEASE! ARE YOU OUT OF YOUR F*CKING MIND?!
You are an adult now! I'm so sick of young people that want everything handed to them! They want the lifestyle their parents and older generations worked years for, "right now". Guess what? If you want something, WORK FOR IT!
Go out and get a job flipping burgers if you have to, and stop spending your money of frivolous sh*t. (Like stupid feathers in your hair and nose rings).
I posted on one of your other four posts. I, like others, am glad you have raised exactly 0 dollars.
Good Lord, OP. Let me bold the major points here.
You are responsible for your own life.
Nobody owes you anything.
Get yourself out of debt. We're all struggling, and we're not going to just give you a handout. This is not how the real world works.
If you want to get married, go to the courthouse and do it. All this stuff that the wedding industry tells you that you need? It's crap. If you're legally married at the end of the day, that should be the only thing that matters. If you're more focused on your wedding than your marriage, then I don't know what to tell you.
Best of luck, OP- because with this sense of entitlement, you'll definitely need it.
Most people start out living paycheck to paycheck (or near) with loads of debt. A lot of people have been unemployed or underemployed for way longer than 5 months. Adults make it work and find solutions. They don't expect handouts.
-Have your FI defer his loans and/or consolidate them.
-Live in a cheap apt like the rest of us who can't afford a house.
-Have your FI apply to flip hamburgers etc while job hunting.
-Take a 2nd job yourself.
