Puerto Rico?

We are looking to visit there for 4 nights in November, and are looking for some suggestions on where to stay.  We will be bringing our twins (who will be 13 months), so something family friendly would be great!

Thanks!

Re: Puerto Rico?

  • I was just in San Juan Puerto Rico for a birthday. We stayed at the Marriott San Juan Resort and Casino.  The resort seemed pretty kid friendly. The pool area was beautiful and had a smaller area for kids. The staff was also very friendly.

  • we went to the wyndham in rio grande, pr this past april with a 4 year old and a 4 month old.  we had a great time and will return.  we are usually off the beaten path travelers, but with children, convenience is the name of the game.

the wyndham is about half hour from san juan and easy peasy.  we rented a condo on the grounds so we had a kitchen, living room and separate bedroom ... i have been traveling with my oldest son since he was 3 months old, and i will say that a condo/house is MUCH better than a hotel room ... 1) toddlers do NOT want to sit in a resturant 3 meals a day, neither do the parents nor the other diners 2) when your kids go to bed at 7pm, if you are in a hotel room ... you go to bed at 7pm.

we rented from resort villas (see below) ... the other link is the main rental company at the wyndham.  the golf villas are less $$ but are much further from the beach. ocean villas are about 30 feet from 3 pools and a very nice beach.  it is about a 3 minute walk to the main resort hotel where you can go to the restaurants, use the spa, etc.  it was seriously the most relaxing, hassle free vacation i have ever had with kids.

That's great to know!  We've been looking at VRBO, and we just emailed the company as well!

Would you mind giving me an idea of what you paid per night?  Please feel free to PM me if you would like!!!

    Did you rent a car?

    Thanks again!

  • I wanted to add. Rent a car. The island is pretty small and a short drive can take you to the other side.  I would recommend renting an SUV or a Jeep. They are pretty crazy drivers and I live in a crazy driver city. We rented a jeep and took the top off to drive through the rainforest. It was awesome. It felt like Jurassic park.
