Resume
Hello nesters, I have a few questions how many of you have paid for a professional resume? Is it worth? Im going to graduate with my bachelor's in August and hope to have a job asap. Thanks

Utalize the career center at your school until you get everything you can from them. Then once they help you as much as they can with the resume get a professionals oppinion on it. They wil have more specific advice to give on what is expected.
To make the look of your resume pop have a graphic design student (or graphic designer if you can afford one) help you out. They will be able to make a logo, business cards, cover letter and resume understated yet stand out. They could make it over the top or tie in with your field of study.
Ditto on this. I had a professional resume writer help me re-write my CV a few years ago. I specifically use someone with experience working with both the geographic region and industry/field that I was targeting. I can't say it was useful right out of the gate, simply because I was changing industries. Now, that I've had some experience in my new field, it is definitely more useful.
Where I am from they offer free government resources to help you write your resume, find courses to strengthen your abilities, and also help you locate jobs.
I used this and had someone "professionally" help write my resume. I had been unemployed for 3 months sending out the resume I had written for myself and got no responses. Within a week of sending out my updated "professional" resume, I had 4 job interviews and got hired on.
It's incredibly helpful to sit down with someone who knows exactly what someone is looking for in a resume. At my current job I've seen so many resumes passed over without a second glance because they didn't like the format. I would look into free services before putting money into it though. I feel like there should be something available to you like that.
