Taking the babe to a baseball game!

I really want to see the Phillies when they're here, and they have a midweek daytime game. Is it worth taking a day off and bringing the kiddo? I'm looking at you, Amy, Lachute and Lando (and anyone else who regularly goes to games)

  • Definetly!

  • We've taken Jack to two games already and he was much better at the day game than the night game.  The night game was obviously closer to his bed time and I think the lights and noise were too much for him.

  • So we took m constantly as an infant seriously never an issue.  Toddler land is a different and we have only been to a philly union game sofar this year. He needed a couple minutes but warmed up to the noise an got excited which was adorable. Likes to walk around so we have to take walks around the stadium. The biggest problem for us was at the union game there was no place to sit and eat. So trying to sit on the ground and eat was a pain, he is use to being in a chair or his Tripp trapp.

    Have fun!

  • As long as there is no playground, you should be good! I loathe the park at CBP because if we take JD he just wants to be there the whole time

  • So, we are actually much more successful at night games than day games.  The kiddo naps from 1:30-4:30ish, so it is always of a hot mess of will he nap early/should we try and put him down/will he sleep in the stroller/blah blah.  A meltdown ensues because he hasn't slept.

Whereas at a 7:05 game he is ready to rage -- he just does better and goes later because he had a nap, even though he is up "after bed time".

We usually get there, and he enjoys a lovely dinner of a Bulls BBQ kids meal which takes three innings, a few innings at the playground/walking around, some toddling in Ashburn Alley, and a change into pjs before we get in the car.

  • Emma does great at games.  The only thing that is annoying this year is she wants her own seat.  She does not want to sit on someones lap.  Which is fine except we didn't buy her seats this year.  So luckily there is usually an empty seat next to us.  If that's the case, she will just hang out in the seats until we leave around 9pmish.  She's cool just sitting in a seat, people watching.  I think the novelty of being a big girl in the seats makes her sit still.

If we don't have a seat for her, we probably last like 2 innings in the seats and then we just walk around.

I think you should try it.  And take pictures! :-)

ETA: I meant to add, Emma will not eat anything but snacks at the game.  We don't even try to get her to eat a meal, it's no use.  We try to feed her before we go.  Otherwise her dinner is soft pretzel, mum mums, and bambas.  Mother of the year right here!
