Honda CR-V

I am thinking about getting rid of my ancient Accord for a CR-V before the end of the year. I am looking at a 2007-2008.  I am very petite (5 feet tall).  DH is 6 feet.  I would be the primary driver of this one.  Any comments good, bad or indifferent?  Are they good for car seats when the need arises for us?  Will my height be an issue, i.e the CR-V will feel too big for me?  I really don't want to test one right now and have the salespeople driving me crazy.  I am just doing some research for when we decide to do the deal.

We have a 2008 CR-V. I'm 5'4" (barely) and DH is about 5'10".  We both fit in fine. I LOVE driving it.

We have a huge convertible car seat rear facing in the center and it's fine. The back seat is not huge-when my parents visit, they're very cozy in the back with the carseat....

  • We've had our 2007 for about 2 years now, and have no complaints. We got a certified used one from the Honda dealership in Ardmore. I'm 5'3" and DH is 6' -- we don't have any issues with the height of the car (getting in/out). It's actually the smallest SUV we could find. We compared dimensions with other cars in that same price range and this was the smallest. We both always drove small cars, so we didn't want something too big. It's actually not that much longer than our Jetta was, but there is so much more room. It was super easy to install our carseat, too.

  • I have an '09 CR-V and I really like it. I'm 5'4" and I feel like I fit just fine without it being huge. It's very roomy though. DH is 6'2" and he's not in it that often but he's never complained.

I think you'll really like it! It can fit so much stuff.

  • Just the info I was looking for. Thanks ladies!

Esyn- congrats!  We also bought our other Accord from Main Line Honda and we had a positive experience there.

    Thanks!

We compared prices with other dealers and used car places, and they gave us the best deal by far!

  • I have an 06 and have loved it thus far. However, it seems to be shrinking! One convertible car seat takes up a lot of room. I won't be able to fit 2 seats. My dh is 6'4" and it is a tight fit in the passenger seat.  I believe the newer model year is slightly smaller model then mine, too.  Right now I wish I had gotten a Pilot but it wasn't/isn't in the budget.

     Hth.

Are you trying to tell us something?

  • My friend is 5'1" and was saying yesterday how much she disliked her CRV. Previously she had a pilot and wished she still did.

  • Maybe I just have a fear of big cars or have a preconceived notion in my head that certain cars are going to be too big for me to drive.  My old 94 Accord is smaller than our 04 Accord, and I drive that with no issues.  I love the GMC Acadia and the Pilot, but always joke you probably wouldn't see me in them lol.  I guess I'll never know until I test something out. For our current (and hopefully future) needs, I think the CR-V may work out fine. Thanks again ladies!

Oh holy shiz, no! Now that I'm jobless and in school this ute is closed for biz for the next 2 years!

Sorry if that was unclear, I mean to say in the far future if we have any more kids!
