We found so much help from reading through the experiences of other "hip parents" via blogs, forums, etc that we decided to start a blog to document our experience. Hopefully it can help some other parents, and also allows us to keep our friends and family up to date with what is going on with Mackenzie.
Feel free to read if you like:

Re: We started a blog
Thanks guys!
We just ordered the basic chair for her so it will just be plain solid purple. I may embellish it myself later. It is costing us $100 to ship it to Canada so to go with anything other than bare bones was getting to be pretty pricy!
I hope that this isn't taken the wrong way, but I quite like the name of your blog! It makes it sound like she's a product of the 60's
And her smile is delicious!
Very much this. I'm sure she'll appreciate that you're putting her/your experience in writing so that she can go back and look through it all later. I love the video of her spinning around in the cast! She does a really good job considering how restricting it looks.
Definitely not taken the wrong way at all! In our readings they refer to kids with Hip Dysplasia as "Hip Babies" and their "Hip Parents". I always think of it as hip as in "cool" when I read that
You. Are. Amazing.
Don't forget that.
Mackenzie is an amazing little girl. So happy and cute! I love her smile.
I don't think I could handle everything that's been thrown at you. You guys are awesome!
Amazing.
I just read through the blog. I definitely think it will be a huge help to other parents going through the same thing. Great job with it.
On another note, Mackenzie is soooo cute and getting so big!
Completely agree!!
Thanks you guys!
I really, honestly, think you just deal with what you are given. I don't think any other parent would do any differently in my place. I'm lucky I have a husband who is so great with helping out and giving me a break when he knows I need it. I definitely couldn't do it alone.
