Sofa Color Question

My DH and I are replacing our couch in our downstairs family room. It is a burgundy leather couch, is uncomfortable, and SCREAMS "old person!" when you see it. It was the previous owner's of our home. It just looks so tired and dated.

I want a new couch that is fluffy and comfortable, and will put some life and style back in to the room. Thing is, we have knotty wood paneling behind where the couch would be placed and light carpeting.

What color couch would you suggest? Below is a picture of our current room and couch:

We bought this PB knockoff from JCP a few years back. The navy/denim or red color might look nice in your room. Have you considered painting the paneling to brighten/lighten things up in the room?

  • I personally love light tan/beige colored sofas, but with a dog and a baby on the way, it's out of the question for us, so we have brown. I think a lighter color would look good in here.
