Quick airfare question for experienced travelers!

We are trying to find airfare for a trip from WI to NYC in mid-August (long weekend).  Yesterday the price RT was $344 direct, tonight it's $270.  IDK if we should jump on this now or if we should hold off in case it goes down.

Any experiences on the best time to buy??

Re: Quick airfare question for experienced travelers!

  • Yes!  That seems like a really good price either way.  I know every route is different, but I have been looking to buy tickets from Chicago to Portland for a weekend in August, and have not been able to find them for less than $500 with 2 stops and an overnight. Needless to say, I still have not bought....
  • $270 seems like a very good deal; I would definitely jump on it!
  • Yep book it because it can also go up and you'd be kicking yourself you didn't grab this :)
