alternatives to theme parks - 4 and 5 year old

Looking for an alternative to theme parks as we have an orlando timeshare.  We did the parks last year.  What are some fun things to do with a 4 and 5 year old?

We are thinking of legoland orlando though.  also some indoor options would be helpful, as its been rainy.

Is there also anywhere we can go for pony rides?

Re: alternatives to theme parks - 4 and 5 year old

  • When will you be in Orlando? Will you have a rental car? Legoland isn't actually in Orlando; it's in Winter Haven which is about a half hour from Orlando.

Ripley's Believe it or Not Wonderworks might be fun for young kids. They're both indoors.

There's a fun citrus grove just north of Disney called Showcase of Citrus...it has a monster truck you can ride that takes you through the orange groves. You can pick your own citrus and hang out around the grounds...it's really beautiful actually.

Green Meadows Petting Farm in Kissimmee might have pony rides, but they have some other animals as well.

  • We took our 4 and 5 yr old to Wonderworks last year.  They loved it. I would totally recommend it.  They also had fun at the Pirate mini golf.

We didn't have time for Lego Land, but our friends said it was great.  They really enjoyed it with their little ones.

You could do Down Town Disney.

  • We will have a car.  Thanks for the suggestions

Downtown disney is definitely in the cards.
