*Kris* - selling

OMG I get that they are anxious, but WTH? We are buying carpet this weekend (which he thinks they have in stock, but I think they need to order). He already told the neighbor to be prepared to help lay carpet this weekend. I keep reminding him that the ceiling needs painted first!

Not to mention that the laundry room floor needs replaced (we have the flooring - he just needs to do it), the deck needs stripped and painted, and the driveway resealed.

Oh and we need to get pre-approved for a mortgage to see what our range could be. Slow down, boy!

We were thinking of just using an attorney as well, but I'm wondering what their fees will be compared to realtor fees - and with the realtor, they do the work. We have a lot of new bldg and a couple of houses for sale in our neighborhood, so I know we'll ge the drive-by traffic, but still...

Are you guys any closer to finding what you want/like?

Re: *Kris* - selling

  • We have not found anything that I want to move into! We kinda backed off since Nathan is still without a contract although it looks like he will have a job for at least another school year and he did apply for a job with Allegheny Co. But if he gets that job we have to live in Allegheny Co. and he is supposedly one of the top canidates, so we shall see.

And the fact we have many unfinished projects hanging is not really great when you want to put your house on the market. He surfs real estate websites constantly, it is so annoying and then he gets pissy when I say I am not feeling the house. We have quite a few house for sale around us (lots of senior citizens downsizing) so we could FSBO but like I said, it seems worth it for someone else to deal with these people! Ideally, I work like to move and then sell the house, especially with the dogs. We could make it work but the house would have to sell shortly after we move.

Ugh, it is stressful just thinking about all of it!

    Butting in.

Clare, when we bought our house, we used an attorney rather than a realtor, and I really enjoyed it. He was flat fee, and did a great job for us.

  • Thanks for your feedback, Lishie. I think  you mgiht be the first person to have something positive to say about FSBO!

Kris - ahhhh what a nightmare for you. Hang in there - the right place will come along and all of the puzzle peices (contracts/jobs/house) WILL fall into place!!!

We were buying and not selling, so that helped a lot with the lawyer side of things....Good luck to you!
