I'm looking for some opinions/advice on good Point and Shoot Cameras. I am wanting to get a new good digital camera, and I don't know that much about them in terms of specifications! For a couple of seconds, I thought about a DSLR, but I don't want all the lenses, and they're too bulky, so I went back to looking at point and shoot cameras. I'm looking to stay under $400, which I think I can get a really good camera with that. If possible, I'm looking for something that has a good zoom, pretty quick shutter speed, and something that take take multiple pictures fairly quickly and doesn't take forever to reset. I'm not sure if that's possible.
I was looking last night, and it seemed that Sony, Nikon, and Canon kept popping up, as well as some fujifilms.
What other things should I look for in a good point and shoot camera? Are there any cameras out there that you recommend? TIA!

Don't get Kodak either... there's a reason they went bankrupt!
I have a Nikon Coolpix and I love it. Very easy to use. It has an "easy auto" setting if you really just want to point and click where it automatically does the flash and other settings for you or there's also a bigger menu where you can pick the setting you want: party, indoor, outdoor, portrait, sports, fireworks, etc.
I would ditto this! I love my Sony Cybershot. My mom has a panasonic one that she got at Best Buy just recently and it takes great photo's as well.
We got a Canon Powershot SX150 just before our honeymoon and I love. It has a great zoom (12X). It has a ton of modes and neat effects. Takes really good pictures in the low light setting (even w/o the flash). Uses AA batteries. I got eneloop rechargables and they last WAY better than regular batteries but it's nice to know I can get replacement batteries anywhere if needed.
We also have an Olympus Tough that we've had for a few years. It's really great for taking with us on our more "outdoorsy" activities. Takes great underwater pictures. Love that I don't have to worry about it getting wet at the beach or if I fall on it snowboarding (I on the other hand got a rectangular bruse!)
