S/O food (lo mein noodles????)

DH LOVES LOVES LOVES the noodles at Fusion Steakhouse (are they lo mein?).  They are flavored just perfectly for him.  Problem is, I can't seem to find them for him anywhere (premade).  I haven't looked very hard, but I just don't know where to find them.  I've considered just cooking spaghetti and finding a flavoring for them, but what is that flavor?  Something with ginger in it?  Whatever it is...whether it is unhealthy or not...he simply loves it and I know he would be really surprised to get them at home.

Re: S/O food (lo mein noodles????)

  • Try these - they have been some of my favorite noodles since I was little. I don't know if they are the same, but they are a dry noodle (as opposed to ramen soup noodles) and the flavor is similar to soy sauce. It's hard to describe since I never really thought about it, LOL. You can usually find them in the Asian section of your local grocery store. If not, they are definitely at Lotus in the Strip District or I can send you a package to try.

I don't follow the package instructions to a t. I boil for 5 minutes in 2.5 cups of water, drain, and then mix in the seasoning packets. I usually add some sort of hot sauce because I like the added hit of vinegar and heat. My mom used to mix in leftover bits of stir fry or veggies to make it healthier.

  • I've never eaten at Fusion Steakhouse--but have you poked around the market district GE in Bethel?  They might have somethings you could try.

  • We love Fusion!

I found some really good suggestions for copycat Lo Mein at: this site .   The Asian aisle may have Lo Mein noodles.  I've also used Soba noodles in recipes from GE in a Beef & Broccoli dish.  They're really good.

A lot of the recipes I found just called for Spaghetti or Linguini.  I'm interested in making them myself now!
