Last Thursday I went on an interview for a job that I'd really love to do. Long story short, they are looking to fill the position very soon and said they'd be making a decision very, very soon, as in the next few days after the interview. I haven't heard anything and when I look online, it says that the job is still active and that I am still under consideration (with the most recent update on the status as of today--6/27).
Well, I guess what I'm really getting at is WWYD. Should I contact HR to ask if a decision has been made about the position? Should I email the person I interviewed with thanking him for his time, expressing my interest again, etc.? I'm just starting to stress over finding a job that I feel like I've aged 10 years in the past 2 months...
Re: finding a new job is aging me...
Ugh I know how you feel and I've only sent applications out. I haven't gotten any interview calls yet.
I think you should send a thank you to the person who emailed you if you have his email. If they have an HR department you can contact, I say give them a call and ask if a decision has been made. It's part of why they are there.

Speaking from someone who does some of the interviewing and hiring for my company, I would definitely e-mail the person you interviewd with thanking him for his time and for considering you for the postition. I also think it might not hurt to mention something about parts of the job you look forward to if you get the job.
