4th of July menus

Anyone thinking about what they are making?

DH and I are both working the next day, so we will keep low key and just swim and hang out at home. But still feel like making some good stuff. :) Deviled eggs sounds really good for some reason!

Re: 4th of July menus

  • We're not doing the big seafood fest this year.  It was my FIL's project and the boys just don't feel up to it, but I'm thinking about doing crab cakes on the grill.  I have a slider basket that will let me grill 6 at a time and hopefully prevent them from falling apart.  So here are my thoughts:

    Grilled crab cakes

    Honey mustard potato salad

    Corn on the cob

    Blueberry cheesecake

  • I'm not sure what we're doing, but if we go anywhere, I want to make this (found on pinterest, of course) because I think it's so cute:

  • ours is really simple:

Burgers and corn on the grill

    potatoe salad

and for desert, I do an angel food cake with the inside scooped out and I put strawberries and blueberries inside and then put the top back on and cover it in cool whip. It was my first ever pregnancy craving, as I found out i was prego the next day.

So Im making it again this  year :)

  • We're going to my parents house - they have a pool and an annual 4th of July party.  She emailed me this morning with the menu so I can decide what to bring. (I told her I was bringing Noah and Brody...but I guess she wants more!  LOL!)

We are having potato salad, baked beans, spinach salad, fruit salad, chips the usual meats.

(Meats are usuallly burgers, my dad's "famous" cheese dogs and sometimes beer butt chicken).   I told her I'd bring the strawberry jello pretzel salad, since the post the other day made me hungry for it and my cousin that usually makes it is blowing us off.

  • I've invited one set of friends over, since we just got a ring pool yesterday. image

Whether or not they visit, we're just doing burgers on the grill, corn on the cob, and maybe a pasta or potato salad. I'll probably also make rice krispy treats for dessert.

We have a big 4th pcinic to go to on the 7th, so I'll bring my poundcake/cool whip/fresh berries trifle-like dessert (that I posted the other day) to that one.
