My sister just got engaged (whoohoo!!) and I offered to help her get started with the planning. So first--the venue. DH and I got married at Thunderbird Chapel, and I didn't really look into any other venues. She's looking for something in the OKC area, with ceremony and reception in the same location. Any venue recommendations/suggestions?? Or places to stay away from? TIA!
Re: Wedding venues?
Congrats to your sister! I haven't been to a wedding in OKC in a long time but here are some suggestions to start with:

We really liked castle falls on paper, but it was beyond disappointing in person.
Do you have any idea what she's looking for in terms or size, style, budget, etc?
Totally agree with ya there!
Oh, I love Castle Falls - their food is fantastic!
If I were getting married right now and wanted my wedding and reception in the same venue, I would chose VAST which is the top floor of the Devon building. If I were getting married in a church, reception elsewhere, I would chose the Purple Bar at Nonna's for the reception.
I live near here and drive by all the time during weddings. It looks gorgeous, especially at night: http://www.rosebrookvineyards.com/
my bookshelf!
Bloggy
Dominion House is in Guthrie, but I always thought it was pretty cool for a fancier wedding: http://www.dominionhouseguthrie.com/
A friend of mine and her sister own this place: http://www.oldtrinityofpaseo.com/#!info. It's a really cute little chapel right in the middle of the arts district in OKC, but it might be a bit smaller than what she's looking for.
We're having a reception at the OK History Center

I think some other places that were popular when I was looking were the Hall of Mirrors, Overholser, Gallardia, Sand Plum Event Center, etc.
Stay away from Cobblestone Creek in Norman. Absolutely run.
Fred Jones Museum of Art on campus is norman is an amazing venue.
