What's your big life change?

I've noticed that a lot of Beasts are having babies, graduating college, getting new jobs, moving, etc.  I was just curious and thought I'd take a poll to see what everyone is looking forward to.  Smile

Many of you probably already know (since I won't shut up about it, lol) that DH and I are in the process of building our first house.  It's starting to look like a home!  We hope to be built, inspected, closed, and moved-in by mid-August.

Re: What's your big life change?

  • Our sweet little puppy was the big life change we were looking forward to! We are working on training her, and then (very eventually) will move on to having human babies in stead of fur babies!

Was going to add a picture since I'm and AW, but I am not as good at TN as I was at TK. Sessions, any advice?

  • TN makes you load it to a site like tinypic first, and then use the URL to post the image.

  • I think we're done with the major life changes for now. We bought a house in April (I can post a picture later) and we're just about settled in it.  I already had a dog when we got married that I bought before I even met H so no fur babies (I would like a 2nd one but H really doesn't want one), and we're just not quite ready for human babies yet either.

I guess mine is the "prune" I'm evidentially carrying. :)

  • Congrats, Raeily!

No huge changes for us, just gradual ones.  We're both getting our Master's, and mine is ending- I'm in my last two courses now.  Plus you heard about my strange pseudo-promotion!

Personally, this year has taken a toll on me emotionally- my school year really wore me out mentally and I'm not over it.  I still stress about it every day and it shows in everything else I do.  I'm thankful for the summer so that I can hopefully get back to being myself.

  • I have all my certifications done for CNA and BLS, now it's all about the application process. But all hospitals want are people who have a year behind them already. :(

DH and his unit are getting ready for a deployment soon, I'll be alone almost all of August. Not looking forward to that.....

  • No major changes, just working on improving the house we bough prior to getting married. So there's projects for sure, but nothing "new". I guess we are focusing on some financial goals this year. Paying for the entire wedding made us realize how much we can really afford to spend/save in a year, so we plan on paying off our car this year (a year ahead of loan schedule), and then starting to invest in IRAs.

  • Our biggest life change has been rescuing our dog Wrigley and owning our own home.  But other than that, not much has changed.  We hope to add a baby to the mix soon.
  • Sessions, so glad you put an updated pic of the house. It looks awesome! I can't wait until it is finished and you can give us all the pics inside and out!

We are considering adopting this adorable young calico that has been in the adoption center at the petco no kill shelter for three weeks now. We already have three cats and one is very sick right now and of course the baby comes in January so I am a bit wary of adding to the pile and having four cats is a bit crazy but we will see what happens. I didn't expect H to say yes to bringing the cat home so when he did I was caught off guard. The vet said to wait with the sick cat so still having a hard time deciding.

  • We adopted a black lab mix puppy and I am no longer work and just a stay at home wife. That is a HUGE change from the daily Manhattan commute and 9-6 job I was working. It's strange, but I'm not complaining!
  • Since November, there hasn't been any big life changes.  We've been fairly stagnant over the last 7 months and just enjoying the peace and quiet.  Yeah, we're lame.  Big Smile

  • Hubby is still looking for a job.  He's had 3 interviews in the past 10 days and another one scheduled, so maybe something is finally going to happen.  We got our house painted and once he gets a job, we are going to repair the deck and then the front porch.

  • No major changes for us other than just doing a few updates around the house.  We had granite put in our kitchen and both bathrooms a few months ago and got new appliances.  Next on our list is painting our bedroom.  It's funny because we've lived in this house for almost 4 years now and we're just getting around to making some of the changes we've talked about.
