262 days! That seems like FOREVER away!

Who here likes to cruise? This will be my 3rd and I cant possibly think of a better vacation! Where have been your favorite places to visit?

Re: cruising away in....

  • i like cruising but also like regular land vacays. each have their pros and cons.

I assume you're asking favorite places to visit in respect to cruise ports. some of my fave ports: venice (overnight), st kitts, barbados, grenada. how about you?

Friday, December 28 2012. The day I had emergency appendix surgery in Mexico and quit smoking. Proof that everything has a good side!! DH and I are happily child-free!! No due date or toddler tickers here!! my read shelf:
Alison's book recommendations, favorite quotes, book clubs, book trivia, book lists (read shelf)
  • I have only been to progresso, key west, and cozumel ports so far. Cozumel has by far been my favorite. DH and I dream of taking the 17 day cruise that includes Italy... when DD is older!!

  • We love cruising.  So far we have been to:  all Hawaiian Islands via NCL, Alaska, Mexico and the Bahamas. In two months we are heading off to the Mediterranean which we are so excited for!

  • I remember going to Cozumel and Nassue when I was a young teen on family Cruises. 262 days is a long time away! My "first" cruise and H's first ever is close to 90 days away and I can't wait! I really like the crystl clear water and white sand of the Caribbean/ Bahamas.

If H likes this cruise I hope to do what Mrs.BFinally has done. Visit places close to home then branch out. So cruise the Hawaiian Islands, Alaska, New England/ Canada and hopefully get the chance to go to the Mediterranean and Asia.

  • I've only been on one cruise a couple years ago, and my H & I had a great time! It was on the Crown Princess, we went to the Bahamas, Cozumel, Roatan and Grand Cayman.  Of those ports, Roatan was our fave, so gorgeous there and the snorkeling was amazing.  I'd like to go on a Southern Caribbean cruise next time and my dream cruise would be to the Mediterranean.

So where are you cruising to in 262 days?

ETA: make that 261 days, see you're one day closer now...lol.

We're going on our 4th cruise next May, but I'm keeping an eye for last minute deals that will work in our schedule just in case!

We loved Roatan, like Earls_Bride, and it is actually a port that I was consider a resort land vacation for snorkeling and diving.  So beautiful!

I dislike Nassau - a lot - so unless it's a REALLY good deal and it would be worth a day on the boat, I try to avoid cruises that stop there.  I'm probably in the minority here.

My dream cruise would include Greece, lots and lots of Greece:)

For us, a cruise is the best bang for our vacation buck since we don't need to pay for flights to any of our 4 main Florida ports.

  • JenMJM- Do Fla residents get a discount for cruises? I don't remember likeing Nassau all that much. We did get a great deal on the cruise and it fit the time we had available perfectly. Fla definetly has better cruises then Tx, imo.

I also love the fur-baby pic and enjoyed looking over your blog.

Thanks, erollis!  I love my furbabies:)

There are usually discounts for being a Florida resident, but I don't know if they are much better than past guest discounts.  I've never tried to compare them side-by-side.

  • I have been on 4 cruises.. all 5 nights or less. We have been to KW, Nassau, Freeport, Great Stirrup Cay (NCL private island), Half Moon Cay (Carnival private island), Cozumel, and Grand Turk. My favorite is Half Moon Cay and a close second is Grand Turk. The beaches are beautiful there. Next year (June 2013) we are going big on the Oasis of the Seas to Nassau, St. Thomas, and St. Marteen. We are already booked but we have a longgg wait ahead.
  • I've been on 3 cruises. Disney, Royal Carribbean & Carnival.  I would rate them in that order also.

I too, am not a fan of Nassau.  Last time I just stayed on the ship while DH and son went on an excursion.

  • We just got back from cruising in Alaska and loved it!  We have also done Hawaii and Mexico.  Hawaii had my favorite ports, but Alaska was so amazing that I know we'll go back again.
  • Excited for our next cruise in only 76 days on the Allure.....very excited.  It will be our 8th cruise.

Favorite port has been Grand Cayman....Rum Point
