4th of July

SO since it is in the middle of the week I was wondering if anyone had any big plans or plans at all for that matter. So far H and I have no plans but that is SIL's birthday so I'm sure MIL is going to want us to do something for her sometime that week.

Re: 4th of July

  • We have no plans...might have Hs fam over for a BBQ or maybe work on the house?  I also might take Thursday off and go home since H can't get off work for the long weekend.

  • My mom always has a big BBQ no matter what so that's where I will be! My H will be stuck in the kitchen bbqing for rich people. Lol

  • No plans. Since we just had our HM, I couldn't ask for Tuesday off (I have Monday off). Otherwise, we would have gone camping. We have a 21st bday party for his cousin (who was best man) tomorrow. Other than that, we are going to finish painting the house. Exciting, I know.
  • I have it off but H is working. He mentioned last night that a friend of his is having a BBQ so we might go to that.

The 4th has never been a huge holiday for me since my bday is the 2nd and my brother's is the 3rd. We're usually partied out by the time the 4th rolls around.

  • We always go to a friend of his house at the lake and swim and BBQ. This guy hires a firework professional and blows up the neighborhood.  I am always terrified of the ashes that fall b/c we are so close- so I sit in the car and watch thru the sunroof and Mike makes fun of me.

  • Picking up my little sis from the airport ant then going to my grandpa's 80th birthday and eating delish food. Probably going home to bed since I have to work on Thursday/Friday.

I've wanted to see the fireworks for the last 4 years and it looks like I'll miss them again.

  • DH and i both have it off, but just the one day and since we're 3 hours away we won't drive to see each other, we'll just wait til the weekend for that..

but, there's a bunch of cool activities going on around here for the 4th, so i'll probably go hang out downtown.  there's a pancake breakfast, a parade and a pioneer day block party with a free concert, rootbeer floats and free hot dogs!

  • No big plans.  We are going to a baseball game.  I like baseball, but usually in April-May-September-October.  During the summer if it's hot outside I don't want to be anywhere but a pool or on the lake!

I have to work the next day (boo) but H doesn't.  Either way, can't do anything wild & crazy since I can't show up to work hung over.  Holidays in the middle of the week suck!

  • I'm disappointed it's in the middle of the week!  I don't understand why we don't get the day after the holiday off of work too... I mean, you have to wait until dark to shoot off fireworks, so you're soo tired the next day at work! booo

The ILs always BBQs and buys a TON of fireworks.. so we'll be over there!  I think my dad has to work, so I'm inviting my mom to go over with us.  Should be a good time :)

H and I both have the day off so we will be spending it on Lake Charlevoix with my sister and BIL on their boat. I am quite excited to spend the whole day soaking up the sun and the beverages. It'll be nice to finally relax a bit with hubby and watch the fireworks with him. 4th of July has a special meaning to us since last year at this time H was overseas.

  • No plans yet. I think H has to work so I will just hang out at our apartment pool during the day. Not sure about plans for watching fireworks either. It stinks to have to work the next day!

  • Nothing planned yet. We've been invited to a BBQ, but I'm not sure if we'll go. The hosts are not really people we know, they are more like friends of other friends...so it would be kind of awkward....plus most of the people going have kids and not that we dont like kids or anything, but its really strange to be the only couple without kids at this type of even (for us anyway...)

I want to go to Maine for the day, not sure if its worth the trip, but thats where all my family is for the summer so I'd love to see them!

  • H and I actually for a change have the day off.  He took the rest of the week off and to surprise him I took the week off to.  He always says I never take a day off just to spend with him...so there!  To be fair, I already had Friday off as we're heading 300 miles away for the weekend for my grandma's 80th birthday party.  So I just decided to add one more day to that.  Kind of excited to have some time off work.  The actual 4th, not entirely sure what we'll do.  We ALWAYS watch fireworks, but usually one of us is working, so a whole day together on a holiday!  WOW!
  • Hubby might have to work because he has a new job and it is oilfield so Holidays don't always matter. We are only allowed to have fire works at our city park because of the huge fires we have here in Utah. So nothing big planned.

  • DH and I will probably spend the day by my parents pool and then go to the annual 4th of July parade on the island, I'm sure someone in the family will have a BBQ. I am so excited for the two days one day off two days weekend! I wish every week could be like that :)
