USPS help?

So I just got an e-mail from a girl I sold some wedding items to.  She said she never got the package and asked for the tracking number.  I looked the tracking number up, and it says that the package was delivered on June 23rd (almost a week ago).

I feel kind of bad, I sent her the tracking number & told her to contact the post office...but isn't that the point of me buying to tracking number?  To ensure it got delivered, and "proof" that it got delivered if the buyer trys to con me into giving them their money back?

I just sent her the tracking number so it's too soon to have heard back.  I guess WWYD in this situation?  I don't feel like I should have to refund her money when I have proof it was delivered...

Re: USPS help?

  • Sometimes the post office can take forever to actually go through the packages... I would have the buyer bring in the tracking number and ask them what's going on.

  • That's a post office problem and not something you could have done something about. I don't see how you would need to refund her money.

Now if I was her I would contact the post office or go up there in person and talk to someone to see if they can help. I really don't know what to tell her.

  • I'd tell her she needs to contact the post office and find out what they did with the package.  I know sometimes I have to go pick packages up at the post office and they stick a teeny tiny sticker on the door to let me know and once or twice it's gotten blown off by the wind.

  • Apparently a neighbor had taken the package inside for them...not sure why they waited a week to let her know, but either way I am relieved she got the box!
