Since a good number of us seem to have baby on the brain I thought we could talk names! H and I aren't going to start trying for a year or two, truth be told, i'd go off my pill now and just let what ever happens, happen but at the same time... i'd be scared $hitless if like next month I was pregnant. So waiting we are.
So what are some of your favorite names and why?
If we have a boy... it's middle name will be Gordon.. after my dad who passed away. For first names I like Jackson. I heard it a while ago and really like it. It flows well with Gordon and our last name... and he could be Jack... or for any of you animated movie buffs.. we'd likely call him Jack Jack when he's little (The Incredibles anyone?) I also like Nicholas.. thought i'd forever be fighting people NOT to call him Nicky.
For a girl.. middle name would likely be Marie.. both of our mom's middle names are Marie and I think it'd be nice. First names here I don't have anything i'm particularly set on at the moment. I love Emma or Emily have for a long time.
I've just decided that wahtever names I give my child(ren) are going to be spelt "traditionally". My name is fairly common.. but my parents spelled it "oddly" and it takes forever for people to learn how to spell it.
SO spill ladies! What are some of YOUR favorite names?
Re: Baby Names
H, FIL, my brother and my Dad are all Michaels....so I'm tempted to give that name to our child if we were to have a son. But on the other hand, do I really need another Micheal in my life?!? haha
Before I even met H, I wanted to use that name, but now I'm not so sure. Maybe it could be a middle name instead.
For girls, I have no idea....at all. Nothing trendy or "unusual" but I also don't want to use a common name.

BFP#2-4/23/13 EDD-01/02/14 baby BOY born 12/31/13 Michael Cameron
For a girl I have the name Jenika Rae - because it has a combination of his mother's name, my mother's name, and my "other" Mother's name.
For a boy it would have to be Stetson Micheal - Me and H were talking once and we both really liked the name Stetson so that just worked. Then Micheal is his dad's name so we decided that it would be a good middle name.
Then I would want another so I could incorperate my dad's name I would hope for a girl and I would name her Kailynn - My dad's name is Lynn and it is also my middle name. I don't know how I would incorperate Lynn into a boys name...
Flynn? That was the first thing that popped into my head. I kind of like that name.
If we have a son we will name him Elijah Reed. If we have more than one son, another name I like is Jackson but H doesn't like that one.
If we have a daughter then her middle name is going to be Grace. Not sure about first name though...I like Leni, Kayla, Natalie.
For a boy it's Ethan Joseph. Joseph is H's name so we really liked keeping it as a middle name so we aren't technically naming him after H.
For a girl it's Emma Addison. I have had the name Emma picked for years. It really works out though because then both of them would have the same first initials BUT she would have my initials as mine name is Ashley and of course he would have H's.
I like Emma, I hadn't considered that before, it's pretty!
I've ALWAYS wanted to name my daughter Audrey (a family name) Lynn (mine and my mom's middle name), but it turns out DH has a cousin who's name is Audrey Lynn... but she's grown with kids of her own so my mom says the age difference is enough that we can still use the name.
My sister's middle name is Renee and I really like that, but Stefan knew a girl in high school named Renee who was a 'kind of a slut' hahaha sooo... that name is out :-/

Love the name choice! But it may be because it's my name
We'll probably start the whole baby thing in a couple of years but I've been thinking about names for awhile now. I really like 'er' names for boys so if we had two boys (thinking we only want two kids) they would be:
Hunter Michael (Michael is my dad and brother's name)
Parker Andrew (Andrew is hubby's middle name)
I only have one girls name that I like which is:
Stella Rose (Stella was my great grandmother's name and Rose is my middle name)
If we ended up with a boy and a girl they would be Hunter and Stella.
We actually just had a conversation about this over dinner last night. Being as our last name is Cox we have to be careful about things that rhyme and sounding like a stripper.
We decided on 2 girls names:
Claire Rose
Cecelia Evelyn
For a boy we like
Edward William
Joshua James
We def dont want kids yet, but have talked names a bit.
We want "unusual but real" names, so something thats not in the top 20, but not something made up or super obscure either.
We will definately use the name Raine somewhere. It was my middle name pre-adoption, and I want to keep and least part of that heritage in the family (first name would have been Tamara which I dislike, so Raine works for me). I like it better for a girl, but being a OLP lover I would use it for a boy if we have a boy first.
I like a lot of the old bible names like Elijah, or the spanish Noemi. H, says he thinks I have better ideas then he does so likely my name will win as long as its not to wierd (or too spanish). H's response when we have talked about names was "i'd name it bob..you better not let me pick a name"

We talk names frequently. I have an older name and got made fun of for it as a kid.
Girls will be Sarah Elizabeth or Audrey Rose. I also really love Lauren by H doesn't.
Boys are harder for us. The only first name we both like is Landon.
For Girls- Alyssa and Kirsten. We're undecided on the middle names... I like Alyssa Marie and H likes Alyssa Kristine. We both like Kirsten Elizabeth or Kirsten Alanna
Boy will be Nathan Richard. I have no idea if we have a 2nd boy, haha. We've thrown around the names Carter Alexander and Cole Alexander.
We're not ready for kiddos yet but we've had names picked out for a while
Thomas Wendell for a boy (Wendell is the name of the street we first lived on) and Natalie Elizabeth for a girl (Elizabeth is a family middle name in H's family). Not sure what we'll do if we have a 2nd boy or 2nd girl (we only want 1 or 2).
Since I'm pregnant this has definitely been a topic lately!
If we have a girl, she'll definitely be named Clara (after my grandmother). Not sure on the middle name- we're thinking Clara Adele (my grandmother's middle name too), Clara Iris (his mom's middle name), or Clara Marlee (I'm not a fan, but DH LOVES the name Marlee, so maybe in the interest of compromise maybe we'd use it as a middle name).
For boys names we're undecided. Our last name ends with 'man" and I don't want a first and last name that ends with the 'n' sounds. I think it gets awkward to say. Unfortunately, a lot of the names I like end with N. My favorite boy name is Evan, but it just doesn't sound right with our last name.
Anyways, right now, we like Nate, Alex, or Leo (after his grandpa). But more research to come!
We have a couple of names, mostly girls, that we agree on.
We definitely will have her middle name be Joan, as that's my mother and his grandmother. For a first name, I like the idea of having a girl AJ, (and his sister has a first/middle initial AJ). So maybe Alison? I also like the more traditional names..
For a boy, the tradition in H's family is to name the first born with the initials G and M. I haven't found the perfect G name yet. H's grandfather was George, so we may end up going with that. But I haven't figured out which middle name to go with.
I know I'm super late but I LOVE talking about baby names! Everyone here has picked really good (not crazy spelled
) names!!
For girls, I've always loved Claire, Brooke, and Brynn. Lately I really like Elle. I think we will have a little girl have the middle name Joslyn (H's brother is Josh, I think it's a cute take on it without being exactly the same).
Boys-I have such a hard time with. I want traditional, non feminine, but not super popular either. Lately H and I like Carter, Max, or Henry, middle name either Mitchell or Daniel after our dads.
I think Max and Henry are adorable. They are definitely on my 'short list'. haha.
Girls:
Deena or Mia (no middle name picked out yet)
Boys:
Dominic , Emmit, or Jacob
Our families are both really italian...and so we got the Anthonys, Vincents, Dominics etcs....Everyones been pushing for another Dominic...which i only like because if we had a girl and boy (Dom and Mia) it would be the brother and sister from the Fast and the Furious. LOL DH and My fav. movies.
