Seriously...EWW

So I spent about 45 mins working in the yard this morning.  Including hunting Japanese beetles & knocking them off bushes into a soapy, wet, bucket of death.  I then proceeded to go inside and clean the house for about 2 hours.  And then take a 25 minute nap on the couch.  And THEN go to take a shower...where one of those little f#ckers ambushed me.

Ok, so it was more like I took my hair down, got into the shower, and then felt something hard in my hair.  My hair is long enough where I was able to pull it around and see the beetle trying to wriggle his way out.  I don't love bugs, but I don't mind them as much as most people probably do...but I don't appreciate them hitching a ride in my hair for 3 hours and then making their presence known while I'm naked in the shower!

UGH!  Any heebie jeebie moments recently in your lives?

  • Our house is on like an acre+ of land so we have all kinds of bugs all the time. Since my brother lived in this house before us and they had animals it has taken us a long time to get rid of all the insects. They also left us with a nice water leak under the kitchen sink. Now with that said all of that gave us roach problems but they were water bugs so no biggie except I too HATE bugs and will scream and run from them.

So we got rid of the problem haven't seen any in months until the other night where I open the cabinet under the stove of dishes and there's one looking me in the face! I shut that door and RAN screaming the whole way down the hall. H came in found it and killed it and then proceed to laugh while I was standing on the couch. Completely funny now but not so much then.

  • ewwww I would have freaked out! When we first moved into our apartment the kitchen was infested with roaches NASTYYY! We have won the war but it was a creepy couple of weeks.

  • Yikes! Ticks freak me out and my mom found out she had lyme last week (caught it early so she should be fine!), a little girl at my preschool had a tick bite and a large red ring around it (most likely lyme) and then I had to take one of another little girl's leg that was crawling up... eek! They are scary!

Yikes! Ticks freak me out ...!

Ticks (or even the possibility of) will get me every time.

My latest eek moment was on Friday when I was getting ready for our camping trip. I went onto the deck to grab a couple of our tailgate folding chairs, and as I stepped back into the house, I realized there were bees flying all around me.  I quickly figured out they must have built a hive in the chairs, and so I THREW the chairs back onto the deck and slammed the sliding door (after screaming, of course!)

H is allergic to bees, so it was up to me to remove the hive (which fell out of the chairs when I threw them haha.)  When we returned from camping, I watched the hive, and it looked like it was safe, so I took a plastic bag and picked it up (much like picking up dog poo), tied that bag, and as I was putting that bag into another plastic bag, something flew out around me. I screamed again, and then threw that bag across the kitchen.  SMRT.  I hid behind the kitchen table until I realized it was just a flake of onion that was in the plastic bag, and had fallen out.  Whoops.

Yeah, that definitely gave me the heebie jeebies :)
