What's your daily commute?

I will be moving to the same city as my job soon, if we get the house we want it'll be about a 15 minute drive. However, I live with my parents to help my little sister with her daughter, and as such I commute about an hour every day each way. I'm actually going to miss that commute.

Re: What's your daily commute?

  • About a 3 minute drive. It's hardly worth it. I walk it about half the time, depending on my pain level that day.

  • I currently drive an hour and 15 (hour and 30 with road construction) each way.

  • 5 minute walk. I'm fortunate to be living a couple blocks away from where I work. Trying to enjoy it while it lasts. We're currently renting from my aunt and eventually we'll be buying, but it may not be this close. I'm just enjoying not paying for gas or having to fight traffic. Surprisingly, those 5 minutes give me a little time to wake up before I get my night started.

  • I have 2 jobs.  One is about 20-25 minute drive, the other is 5-10 minutes.

  • It takes me a half hour to drive in and an hour to drive home (with traffic). Some days I take good old public transportation (when the hubby needs the car) and that takes 2 hours there and 2 hours home. I don't take the bus very often.

  • 25-30 minutes and it is mostly highway.

  • Depending on traffic....anywhere from 45 mins to 2 hours. But I average about an hour. One the way home, about an hour, sometimes longer. I am so done with this commute and wouldn't miss it in the least.
  • I am not doing anything curently. School is (was) a 10 minute drive. Work is (was) 50 mins or more.

H is lucky and averages around 30 minutes. A good day will take him 20 minutes and a bad day will be over an hour.

  • I commute about 45 minutes on public transportation.  I'd hate it if I had to drive, but I really enjoy it because I get to sit and read/nap the entire time.  It works out really well. Smile

  • 45 minutes on a good day. It's supposed to be less than a half hour but there's a lot of construction now.
  • My commute is .25 seconds from my bedroom to my home office :-)! I work in sales so working from home makes sense. I love it! Don't miss the commute because I would get so stressed with traffic.
  • In the morning my commute is about 35-40 mins. With traffic in the evening, it takes closer to an hour :( I hate it. ive been looking for jobs closer to home but I work in college education services and there are hardly any openings for external applicants these days.
