Re: Monday Monday
A good friend stayed at our house on Saturday night after we were all at a wedding. Sunday morning and she got up and showered. She told me later on how much she liked my foot pumice that I had in there. Now, is it just me or is that gross? I feel like I need to throw it away now.....I would never use someone else's foot stone, considering I can see all the dead skin that comes off onto it when it's used! Also, SO thinks she used my razor as well because there was hair in the bottom of the shower when he got in. Again, gross and completely unsanitary. I used that $10 razor one time and now I will throw it away.
Thoughts? Am I overreacting and just being a germaphobe here?
Not overreacting. That is gross and weird. Using someone's bodywash, or shampoo, toothpaste, or the like, sure, that's cool. Anything else? Eww. I would throw away the pumice or maybe spray with some Lysol. You never know what kind of fungus she could have on her feet.
blech, I'd probably throw them out too. Who does that? I feel weird using other people's shampoo if I forget my own!
This is totally random - DH and I looked at motorcycles over the weekend. I'm trying to get into a motorcycle safety class soon so I can see if I like riding. I never thought I'd want a motorcycle, but it would be so fun taking long rides with DH.
I bought this dress today for all the weddings we have this summer. I can't wait until it comes in. I hope it fits well enough, or comes in time for me to have it altered. I wanted something original and sexy, but not too obnoxious.

Any idea for shoes? Black strappy? Gold? Try to find some awesome copper colored shoe? Nude color?
Thanks! That's what I thought too
I feel like so many people wear black to weddings. I wanted to branch out. Plus I can now comfortably fit into a size 8. I'm pretty excited. I even wore my first pre-preg outfit to work last Friday. I'm slowly starting to look like the "old" me. I've got a few more pounds, but I hope to work them off this summer.
I've been seeing them now too! DH is hoping I "take to" riding so he can get me a regular motorcycle. The 3 wheelers are quite a bit more and if he doesn't have to get me a 3 wheeler he can get me a new cycle and also afford to upgrade his bike.
I've also been dreaming about trying to convince my boss to let me be support staff for the bicycle tour next summer that my organization is a part of. I could bring my motorcycle and essentially drive it cross-country over 9 weeks while providing PR support to the tour. Not sure I'd want to be away from DH that long though.
Great job! Love that dress. I'd just go to a shoe store and see what you find. I can never seem to find the right shoes if I have something specific in mind, but maybe you have better luck in that department :-)
I think nude stilettos would look great with this!
Wop - that is so pretty!
I agree about the razor and the pumice stone - I would throw them away. I had someone do that once and I made them buy me a new razor. It was so disgusting.
Oooh! I like it too!! Very nice! I'm not sure about shoes.. black strappy would work, but maybe nude pumps or peep toe would be better.
Good morning all!
TTB - I agree that wasn't cool! If she needed to use something she should have asked first.
Wendy - Good luck with the motorcycle! DH keeps saying he wants a motorcylce - when we first met he was very against them, saying they weren't safe - but I guess he has changed his mind. I would be ok with him getting one - the guy I dated before I met my husband had a bike and I actually enjoyed going for rides. Plus it would be a great savings on gas in the spring/summer/fall for him to take to work. I'm not sure he will get one anytime soon though.
TheWop - LOVE the dress! I could never pull that off personally. Good luck on your shoe search, I'm not very good with that.
Morning....I'm trying to get my cleaning done before it gets too hot. I also need to get all of us dressed and ready to go. I want to get the girls outside to burn off some energy before it gets too hot.
We moved the downtstairs portable air conditioner to Mia's room, so we have no air on the main level. I think after naps, I will put a movie on in my room for the girls.
We swtiched the girls' beds from toddler beds to full size beds. Nothing like moving 2 sets of matrress upstairs in 90 degree heat! Oh well, at least it is done. The only thing we have left if to put their new shade up (room darkening shades - yay!). And, we have wall decals for Mia's room.
I think they turned out really well. It is funny because I look at them in their new beds and think "they are getting so big" and "they look so tiny in those beds". I was putting on their new bedding and I just stopped dead in my tracks. It was on of those "my babies are growing up" moments. I got a bit teary eyed.
How do you clean your kitchen floors?
I have always just poured from Mr. Clean into the mop bucket and gone that way, but I'm finding that with our tile floors it leaves a sticky film. Thinking I might buy a Swiffer Wet.
I use Swiffer Wet for quick clean ups, but when I want a deep clean, I do it the Cinderella way- sponge and a bucket on my hands and knees (vinegar and water with a drop of dish soap). Someone once recommended one of the reusable spray mops on the new H&G board a while ago. It got great reviews. You can use your own cleaning solution with it.
Just found out that my good friend and a friend of hers were involved in a car accident this moring. Also her aunt is kicking her out of her house too. She went through all of this this morning.
We have tile.
I put some Dr Bronners in a bucket and mop water heavily over the floors. DH follows me with a floor mate that sucks up the water. Then we repeat with clean water.
Oh my word, that's awful!
went to Tree Huggers on my lunch hour to pick up my KickStarter thank you package. Their bulk section is pretty neat, but it seems like Nourish has more selection. I forgot to compare prices.
I'm quickly becoming one of "those" people that has everything in Mason jars LOL.
I do almost the same. I normally try to use my Swiffer Wet Jet at least once a week and then I try to monthly get on my hands and knees and use a rag and bucket of vinegar and water. Good ol' vinegar works great for cutting the buildup that occurs from using the other cleaning products. I would say I maybe use a 1/4-1/2 cup of vinegar and maybe 3 gallons of water - I really just guess when I do it. We have hardwood oak floors throughout most of the house and then tile bathrooms.
Sorry to hear about your friend Charity. I hope her and everyone involved in the car accident are ok.
