It's because of the stupid people. Out in the country, chances are, you're not going to set somebody else on fire. In the city, people would get those high flying fireworks and possible set whole neighborhoods on fire, go through somebody's window, etc.
We're having a picnic at my parents house for a few people. ILs and GrandILs. My uncle and aunt and one of his uncle and aunts.

I don't like people that set off personal fireworks. I am so-so about the shows. I go more for the nostalgia from my childhood, than I actually like them.
Are you taking any extra time off since it's in the middle of the week?
Well, I don't have a job, so I really can't take any more time off than I already have.
Do you have plans and what are they? No plans, I am working and DH is going to a friends house for the day.

I took Monday off work and will be working on Wednesday. I'd much rather have a 3 day weekend instead of a day off in the middle of the week!
Do you have plans and what are they? DH and I are just going to go up to the Ocean City boardwalk. We live about 20 minutes from there. It will be insanity but DH has never been to Ocean City on the 4th of July and since it's what I did every year as a kid, I want him to see it. My parents may go with us.
Are you a fireworks lover or could you care less? I love fireworks. It wouldn't feel right if I missed seeing them on the 4th of July.
Are you taking any extra time off since it's in the middle of the week? Since I don't have a job at the moment I have all the time I need. DH has had unexpecting days off due to the storm that hit our area so he's home today.
