WIN

It's been a crazy weekend at work.

I intended to talk to my boss about my upcoming position change Friday after rehearsal. I needed to let him know what we need in order to accomplish what it is that he wants done (we need another website made with an audio stream). Without that website, I can't actually make a proper mix and refuse to try without being able to hear it. If I cant do the mix, this affects my hours severely.

Apparently, my boss is on vacation for 5 weeks.

So, since his last words to me were "You know what I need done, so I need you to just....figure out how to do it", I decided to be proactive and contact the web guy myself (mind you, I had already been telling both my bosses for weeks that we needed this site built in order to do what they want). So I talked to the bosses assistant who got me the web guys email. BUT...

The web guy is moving to Austin Monday. The assistant told me I could send him my questions and he could let his replacements know the situation.

So. Since I'm technically not on staff, I really had no business doing this without clearing it, but I emailed the web guy anyhow. Worst case scenario, I get yelled at. Best case, I get what I need.

Saturday, no reply. I ask my other boss who is filling in for higher up boss exactly what is going on here. He informed me what I would be responsible for (not much) and when I would need to be there (not a lot).  The raise they gave me is not enough to cover the lack of hours.

So I spent all Saturday and Sunday obsessing about the impending lack of hours/income.

Tonight during service, the web guy came in and informed me what I requested would be super easy to do and he would let the new guys know about it.

Now how freaking hard was that?!?! After weeks of saying "this is what we need" all it took was one freaking email to some dude I didn't even know and Bam, the ball is rolling.

I can't wait to kill it with the web mix and demand another raise.  Sheesh.
