We have a picture wall and various pictures hung on walls throughout our house.
Honestly-- I am worried about taking them all down just because I think it will look really blank and the holes, etc (there is no reason to paint otherwise, it is fresh paint in neutral colors). I could buy postcards and put stupid landscape pictures and other non-sense in teh frames if that might be better?
It is decorated very up to date, etc.
When we looked for houses, we saw lots of pictures up and it never bothered us and our real estate agent said she did not think it was a big deal (we are in an area where houses are selling ok), but I read on here and some staging website about how you have to take down all pictures?
So-- do pictures bother you and if so... why? Do you think we should leave them as is, put postcards or landscape photos in all frames that are on walls or take them down? If take them down-- leave little holes, try and cover and have the paint potentially not perfectly blend (we have the paint from 3 years ago when we painted most of the house, but patch jobs never match perfect) or repaint our entire house (does not seem like we would get that back in return, so not leaning towards this).
