What to feed? Urethrostomy

Our small mixed breed pup had to have a urethrostomy due to sever recurring bladder stones, and now we have to change his diet.  His vet is rec'ing some Purina brands, which I am NOT on board with.  Right now he's eating a grain free food (Nature's Domain from Costco) but we keep having recurring issues.

I don't think going to a raw diet is in the cards right now, but I read somewhere that switching to wet food could help?  Are there any good foods that would have lower acidity?

Thanks!

Royale Canine mades a urniary S/O food that is the only food we recommend for dogs (and cats) that have urinary/bladder issues. Your options are limited when it comes to food specific for the urinary tract and I wouldn't stray too far away from something that is urinary specific or you'll end up with more problems.
