neutrogena instant eye reviver :(

So I'm always on the look out for something to take care of these dark circles (in addition to drinking lots of water, taking antihistamines and getting sleep), plus I want a moisturizer to fend off the oncoming wrinkles.

I like neutrogena's sunscreen because it isn't greasy and it doesn't burn (I have sensitive skin).

Today I was at Walgreen's to pick up some more, and I bought the neutrogena eye reviver on the strength of the "Dermatologist recommended. Non greasy, Non irritating, Non comedogenic" on the box and the added promise of a bunch of stats ie: 75% of users/85% of users/etc experience a cooling sensation, less dark circles and so on. "Gentle"

Yeah, so.  It burns.

Which is what almost half the reviews on amazon say.  Lesson learned, never impulse shop at Walgreen's.

Re: neutrogena instant eye reviver :(

  • I have sensitive skin, too- I've learned that "cooling sensation" for me always means it'll be something from "slightly uncomfortable" to "it feels like my flesh is burning off." Steer clear!!!

  • Me & neutrogena are NOT friends.  We are mortal enemies.  I got the Neutrogena makeup wipes bc I was being lazy and wanted to take wipes on vacation, and didn't want to pay $20 for makeup wipes.  I used the Neutrogena ones in college when I did theatre and had to wear pancake makeup all the time... but I used cold cream with them.

Cut to.... first time I used them to take actual makeup off, they BURNED my face.  Not just the sensation.... skin peeling off burn.  Like I just had a chemical peel.  They went in the trash, and I will never buy anything by Neutrogena ever again.

  • I have an eye cream that I use and LOVE.  The first time I used it burned but for a few minutes but tried it again and I have no reaction to it.  Make sure you only use the eyecream under and around the eye and not on the eye lid its self.  I am not sure why it happens, but this eye cream is opthamologist tested so I gave it another try and it never bothered me again.

  • That sucks. Amazon reviews always help me. I don't like buying things with less than 4 stars.
