Bachelorette discussion time

Anyone have a feeling about who she's going to end up picking?  I am really unsure...and I feel like by this point, there's always one clear front runner.  I guess if i had to say, i'd say it would be Jef.  I think he scored some major points with that letter he read to her last night.

One thing is for sure, regardless of who she picks, based on their homes, I don't think money will be a struggle....I kind of want to move into Sean's house.

Re: Bachelorette discussion time

  • Oh and how awkward was it when Arie's family started speaking in Dutch??  And am I the only one who immediately started quoting lines from Austin Power's Goldmember?

  • I think she picks Jef too, but I don't see any of them as a front runner. Although, why did he read her a letter?  Why couldn't he just tell her those things?  I missed the couple minutes leading up to the letter, so I wasn't sure if I missed something.

And what is up with all of the big houses of the contestants on every season of The Bachelor/ette?  Very few of them live in a small to normal house.

  • I haven't watched it yet, but you know I'm the spoiler queen so I don't care. :) Why do all the guys live in ginormous houses? Do you have to be at a certain income level to qualify for the show?? Why doesn't anyone ever live in a split level? or an apartment!?

He had written the letter on the plane ride home from Prague.

Sean's house or the air conditioned country cottage his niece owns in the backyard?!?!  That playhouse was seriously nice enough to live in.

I still like Arie, but I am starting to think Jef might be her front runner.

  • I noticed the AC in the playhouse too!! That was out of control! And I'd assume the kid doesn't even live there. What do these people do for a living?!

It does seem odd that the guys who got to hometowns all grew up in mansions, but maybe that's as much a result of the eliminations as it is casting. I'm sure Emily gets a vibe for who comes from money and who doesn't, and it appears she's accustomed to living a certain way.

I would not have been comfortable with Arie's family. The Dutch, the mom in the strappy dress, the slightly creepy twin brothers -- no thanks! I really loved Sean's family (particularly his dad), and the joke about him living at home was very funny. He's just not my type though, so I have a hard time envisioning her picking him. I'm still rooting for Jef! I don't like reading people letters aloud, but beyond that I think he's got the most personality and he's the most attractive.

  • Did you read this?

ABC is making changes to its Bachelorette finale format this summer.

For the first time in seven years, ABC?s The Bachelorette will go live for its annual After the Final Rose post-finale special. Plus, for the first time ever, the network is moving the finale to a different night of the week. ABC will air the Bachelorette finale Sunday, July 22, from 8 to 10 p.m., with a live AFR special at 10 p.m.

Doing AFR live will help prevent any spoilers about who Emily chooses ? if she chooses anyone ? from leaking out.

But why air the finale on Sunday?

Well, perhaps the network simply wants to effectively promote the return of Bachelor Pad, which gets underway on Monday the 23rd. (Check out the cast here). Or maaaaybe, the scheduling could have something to do with stomping counter-programming the 90-minute debut of CBS? new summer dating show 3, which chronicles the lives of three very different single women who come together with the common goal of finding true love.

Hm, can you think of any reason why ABC might want to smack CBS this summer?

  • It always seems to me in every season that each family looks as though they're very comfortable money wise.  Although, I guess you'd have to be to ditch your job to go on tv and hope to find love for a few months.
