POD being delivered today

anyone ever use one?  Did you have a "system" for packing it up? All I know is that it is being delivered today - they gave no time frame and I am going to the Roger Waters concert tonight????  I can't wait to start packing it up, my house is a maze of boxes right now and we really need to get this place on the market.

Re: POD being delivered today

  • We had a similar storage box delivered before we listed and filled it on a Saturday.  K's parents were good enough to take EJ for the day and we were super productive. We had a bit of a plan as to what furniture needed to go in there and started with that. Then I went through and emptied closets as best we could to give the impression they were spacious.  I would just make sure things are snug, because it will be put on a truck and shaken up a bit. We didn't lose anything to damage from our use of a pod.  And trust me, Kev is no rocket scientist when it comes to packing.

Once the house was emptier, it was like we had enough space to stay at the old house... hahahaha.

  • Wow, glad to hear you filled it in 1 day.  My husband thinks its going to take us a week to fill it!  I on the other hand think its going to go real fast with all of these boxes everywhere.  We plan to put as much furniture in it as we can live without for the next month and a half.  What did you use to secure things (bungies?) or did you just kind of pack it in tightly?  Did you buy the insurance for your stuff - I did up to $5,000 but not sure if it is even worth it or not.

I think I'm going to feel the same way as you - without all our crap our house will be roomy!

  • we just packed everything snuggly- and padded any furniture we were concerned with being scraped or scratched with excess blankets/sleeping bags.
