Hope everyone had a fabulous weekend and stayed somewhat cool! Saturday I hung out with my SIL and went to an early Fourth of July party in her old neighborhood. They had a pool, so we got to swim. Yesterday, I stayed cool by being inside in the AC cleaning all day :-/
Anyone doing anything exciting for the 4th? I'm just excited that I have Wednesday off from work...even though it is in the middle of the week! I'm going to a pool party at one of DH's aunts during the day, and then I'll head over to my parents house and hang out with them for a little bit. DH has to work at 2 on Wednesday :-(

Re: Monday Morning
I had a pretty good weekend - DH and I went to a co-workers cookout on Saturday. It was unbearably hot, but we had a good time. We spent Sunday indoors - it was too hot to do anything else. I'm excited that I only work today and tomorrow then I'm off the rest of the week! We had initially planned to have a house-warming/cookout for the 4th, but I would rather use that money to buy much needed items for the house, so my plans are to shop till I drop!
Hope everyone has a good week!
Today is a definition monday... thats all there is to it.
We are going to be camping with the IL's for the 4th and then this weekend we are heading to Nashville for a very close friends wedding. We are excited to get out of town for awhile, even if it is just for the weekend.
We had SIL's wedding this past weekend. She did a lot of it DIY so there was a lot of set-up involved, but most of the family helped out and everything went pretty smoothly. We also were able to visit one of H's old college roommates since he lived in the next town over from the wedding, which was nice. I'll post some pics later..
I just got back from picking up a bridesmaid dress for our friend's wedding in September. It fits nice and snug so I cannot gain any weight. I debated ordering the next size up just to be safe but I was swimming in it when I tried it on. I plan to pick up the exercise and hopefully lose a few pounds so if that happens I shouldn't have a problem.
We started off out weekend without power for about 7+ hours on Friday.. boo!! It got up to 80 degrees in our house, and finally came back on around midnight. Saturday we went to a friends pool. Yesterday we ran some errands, but other than that had a lazy day.
Not sure about our plans for the 4th. But I have Wed-Sun off work! 5-day weekend!!

Worked all weekend. SIL's bday was Friday so we had a party and stayed up quite late. I probably drank too much wine.
No plans for the 4th, H works at night.
I apparently live in the only part of the country that ISN'T in the heat wave right now. I think the high for the weekend was like 87.
Didn't do anything, because Vhati worked.
There were no "disasters" this weekend, but the worst case scenario played out when it came to our plane tickets; we ended up eating the cost of the tickets with a cancellation. It would have cost the same amount of money to rebook them as it did to initially purchase them, which even the Orbitz guy said didn't make much sense. So, no Vegas for Vhati and me this year.
But now, however, we're planning on going up to Seattle at the end of October for SteamCon IV instead (maybe, if everything works out right). It'd cost roughly the same amount as Vegas would have, so in the end, it would all work out.
Not doing anything for the Fourth, cause Vhati works; they close at 6:30, but still, that's all day. Doesn't really matter, nothing happens here on the Fourth anyways. It is really weird coming from an area of the country that is BIG on the Fourth with parades, town picnics, and tons of stuff going on to an area of the country that MAYBE does 5 minutes of fireworks at 10 PM and calls it good.
I'm just getting back to work after vacation last week - Carmel/Monterey for several days and then painting my office the rest of the week! That's still not done, so still slowly working on all that. It was not as hot as usual here in Northern Cali - low 90s I think. Seems like everywhere else was worse!
We'll probably do BBQ at my parent's on the 4th and we're going to a baseball game the night before with fireworks at the end of the game. Hope you all have a nice 4th!
Even though I am sick I am trying to convince my cousin to come visit. Only because she seems blah that she has all this vacay time and no place to go. She was unable to make it to the wedding and I haven't seen her since our Grandpa died.
For the forth I really want to go set up a picnic and watch the fireworks. I don't care if it takes a lot out of me. I didn't have fireworks last year and missed it. There is so much going on in our cities vicinity on the 4th. But I wont be up for most of it.
Yesterday was pure definition of a Monday if I've ever had one.
This weekend we didn't do much because I worked all weekend. DH and the in laws worked really hard to get our siding project done and we just have one little section left and then it will finally be done!
We're not doing much for the 4th because DH has to work and I'm just flat out exhausted from working 9 days in a row. So I'm sure I will just be relaxing and catching up on all the housework I need to do.
