Anyone every had the feeling like they have a lump in their throat?

Ugh, it has been a few weeks now, and it is getting worse. No trouble swallowing or breathing, but at rest, feel like I have a lump in my throat. So annoying and feels like someone is lightly choking me Tongue Tied Yikes!

I have an appointment with my doc this afternoon, but wondering  if she is going to look at me like I am nuts!

Thanks!

Re: Anyone every had the feeling like they have a lump in their throat?

  • Trust, your doctor will not look at you like you are nuts.

Good luck and be as honest as possible.

I am praying that you can still eat and drink. (given that is has been a few weeks.)

  • Yeah, I've been there!  I was diagnosed with silent reflux when the feeling didn't go away - or it may be allergies (post nasal drip)?
  • Ugh!  I had that too!  The worst!  I never went to doc but I googled and asked around...sounded like acid reflux or post nasal drip or something...booo feel better!
  • It could be allergies too.  I felt like my throat was kind of closing up and it would make me gag.  I went to an allergist and got on medicine and shots which helped a lot.
  • I live with that same feeling daily. I have a cyst on my thyroid, thanks to that I am no stranger to doctors anymore. Of course get it looked at by your doc. Chances are it could just be a cyst. Or it could just be something that will work itself out.

Hope everything works out for you!

  • It could be something very common from reflux. I have what they call a globus sensation or something along those lines, lol. I don't have any of the typical problems associated with heartburn/reflux. My stomach hurts and I get the feeling like something is stuck in my throat. When I turn side to side, it's even hard to swallow. They dilated my throat a few years ago. I may have had the sensation for a few days once or twice in the last few years. For the most part, I don't have any problems since I had my throat dilated.
