So we (finally) got the proofs back from the photographer. I shared them with our parents asap, because they have been making me crazy asking for them- I haven't talked to my mom in two weeks because all she would do is harp about "Where are the pictures?!" for 45 minutes.
The pictures overall are wonderful. But H unfortunately had a huge zit the day of the wedding that the photog didn't edit out of all the photos. No big deal. We can handle it ourselves, the photog doesn't mind. And in a few pictures my arms look like giant hams and my overbite is SUPER noticeable... Just not stuff I want every body looking at.
MIL took it upon herself to throw a link to the gallery up on FB... Um. Wtf??
H has emailed and left her a voicemail this morning, asking her to take down the link. She still hasn't taken it down, but she has managed to "like" the comments people have left on it.
I'm glad she likes them or whatever, but I totally want to be in control of what is shared to the general public. CanNOT believe she did that.
My plan is to take a bunch of horrible pictures of her at BIL's wedding in August and post all of those to FB
Re: MIL Vent
I am so glad that my MIL barely knows what a computer is! She keeps asking H every chance she gets where the photos are. The other day I told her I was going to make a book for her, and she was like "I want to pick and choose." She's going to get what she gets! She'd have no way to look at them since she doesn't have a computer (or even know how to use one), and she would have to go to someone's house to see on-line proofs.
What your MIL wasn't cool and I would be pissed, too. With professional pics, I want control over them. If cousin Sally took them and posted, I don't care (unless something was inappropriate or super unflattering). I hope she takes down the link. Otherwise, you are free to take lots of awful pictures of her and post them
Thanks for understanding- On one hand I feel totally bridezilla-y for being upset that people are looking at pictures of me, on the other hand... I don't anyone ever to see my ham hock arms ;p
She eventually took down the link- But not before 17 people looked at them
Is there any way you can "hide" photos on the website? For instance, out of the 1300 pics that I can see on the website with all of our photos, I had the option to hide the photos I don't like so that only about 800 or so are seen by whoever logs onto the website.
Just in case she does this again, or if anyone that already saw them shares the link...

yeah, wow, that sucks! luckily my MIL is more sensitive than to post my links without my permission. :-/
we got our pictures on a cd, so we uploaded the ones we wanted everyone to see to a flickr account and shared that with all of our family and friends.
our photographer did eventually send us a link but he spelled hubby's name wrong, and that is so aggravating so i never shared the link with anyone.

I would be upset too. I mean I can understand if she was just so excited, but since you have asked her to take it down and she hasn't...
I like your plan
