What are you all doing for the 4th?
H and I are in danger of having a crappy 4th of July. For starters, it's on a Wednesday, which is kind of a drag in and of itself. We don't have SD for the holiday this year. H was supposed to ride his bike with SD in a little parade, but she told him last night that she changed her mind, she wants BM to ride with her instead. I hate parades. My parents are out-of-state on vacation, so we can't go hang out with them. My brother and SIL are spending it with her family. H's family is all out-of-state. Most of our local friends have plans with their families.
So... we're searching for something fun to do, with no luck. Any suggestions? Maybe we'll just buy a bunch of liquor and light things on fire.
Re: 4th
I am pretty ticked off at this fourth of july being on a Wednesday thing. I have tomorrow off, like everyone else BUT HAVE TO MAKE UP THE TIME ON SATURDAY. Gee, thanks so much! I would rather work tomorrow and have my Saturday off but when I asked I was told no which is retarded.
We just plan to lay around in our backyard, I guess. We are having some couches delivered for DH's "man room" so that is the only exciting thing we have going on.
I vote for buying liquor and lighting sh!t on fire.
You have to make up your time off on Saturday? ....That's messed up.

Well, it is the end of the Q and when you work in SEC reporting, that's just kind of how it is. What really ticks me off is that I worked a 15 hour day yesterday AND ate lunch at my desk while everyone else got here between 8 and 9 and left at 6. And took a one hour lunch. That's fine and dandy but a large portion of what I do is completely dependent on them getting their work done in a timely fashion which means come Saturday I am going to be playing solitaire while they are rushing around trying to wrap everything up, KWIM? And then next week I am going to be REALLY pushing to get stuff done.
I know none of that makes sense. But it is irritating.
That really sucks! I work a lot, but not *that* much. Hopefully you can get some quality relaxation time in tomorrow.
My mom's had JJ this week, so we'll meet up tomorrow so he can come back with me for the next couple of weeks [he'll spend more time with my parents when my dad gets home on R&R in two weeks]. I don't think we're meeting until tomorrow evening, which means I have tomorrow during the day to do whatever I want. That'll be weird.
I'll probably sleep in, finish cleaning, meal plan and go grocery shopping. I am not a fan of fireworks, so I'll avoid those at all costs; we also did our family BBQ this past weekend, so no BBQ for me either. The 4th being in the middle of the week sucks, but at least it's a day off.
We got let out a few hours early today. Hooray!
H took Monday off instead of the 4th, so I'm just hanging out with the dogs tomorrow. We're planning on going to the Philharmonic's Red White and Boom concert tonight, so that covers the fireworks. It starts at 8:30(?) at the State Fairgrounds and is free! I doubt we'll do anything tomorrow evening after H gets home.
I got to sleep in until 8:30! Somehow, I convinced my baby he needed to go back to sleep after his 6 a.m. feeding.
So we snuggled in bed for a couple of hours.
DH has today off, but he did have to go round this morning. I think we're going to spend a couple of hours at a friends' pool this afternoon. No fireworks for us this year...it's just too hard to stay out that late at night with G, and we didn't want to get a sitter on the 4th.
