July 5th Randoms
Pretty tired this morning. I don't think the fireworks around my house stopped until 1:00 am.

We are going to be so slow on our bicycle tour next weekend. We haven't ridden much at all because of the heat.
I'm super excited about this weekend-I was able to get into a motorcycle safety class. Now I have to go get a helmet and boots. I'm borrowing DH's gloves and jacket for now. I was going to just get hiking boots but there is very little selection, what gives? Do people not go hiking any more?
Yesterday we had to pick up MIL from the hospital. She was kept overnight because of dehydration. We kept telling her to drink water (she lives in a very hot trailer) but all she wants to drink is Diet Coke. Ugh, what can you do when your parents are stubborn?
Morning! I'm torn today between going to my parents where there is a pool or chillin at home. I also think I have a mild case of pink eye so home may win out.
Our neighborhood was quiet when we got home at 12:30 am. We were all beat.
The YMCA canceled their farmers market due to heat.
It sure was hot yesterday. Our apt kept a temp at 78 all day long. Ugh. I hate living in apartments where the darn units are old, they keep piecing them back together, and they are too small of a unit for the size of our apartment.
I sure didn't want to work today! Kentwood fireworks were awesome though.
Spent yesterday at DH's aunt's pool, playing cards, etc.
Realized that MIL doesn't give a rat's butt about this pregnancy/baby. She's not ONCE asked how I was feeling, bought anything at all for her and anytime anyone asks me how I'm feeling, she changes the subject.
REason #14024 that I HATE living over here and would give anything to move back to Michigan.
Morning all!
We took Hannah to the parade here in Allendale yesterday. It's nice that its on the GVSU campus - there it plenty of parking and lots of shaded spots along the route, and it was only an hour long! Hannah really enjoyed it. I got her some small flags and she waved them all around and was cheering as everyone passed by. The parade seemed to consist of a lot of political candidates, tractors, and fire engines. I was surprised there were no dancers or marching band - guess that's just what I'm used to from back home.
We visited the park for a short time after the parade but it was just too hot to keep Hannah outside. So we hung out at home for the rest of the evening. DH and I were able to get a decent view of the fireworks they set off at the HS here from our deck - worked for us!
Indy - Sorry to hear about your MIL. I don't know mine real well - she has always been very quiet and we now live 8 hours away. She is nice though, so I guess I should be count my blessings as I know so many who don't like/get along with their in-laws. Hope that some day she comes around for you.
TW - We had steak too. DH left the grill unattended for a few minutes and came back to flames. So they were a little chared but weren't awful. I actually enjoyed not having "real" plans for the holiday too. It was our choice to go to the parade and the park - on our schedule. We have always spent the 4th with my in-laws since there are big fireworks on the river by them. A low key, middle of the week holiday was great!
We did almost nothing yesterday as well. Went to a neighbor's for a cookout for dinner, then rented a movie. It was a nice day. But like any holiday/weekend, it went too fast!!
This weekend I'll be in Nashville for a super quick visit to see my grandma, aunt, uncle and cousin, which I am so excited to see them, but not looking forward to how tired I'm going to be after!
What's everyone doing this weekend?
No real plans here I don't think. I might go out with SIL for a little girls night out on Saturday. No idea where we'll go.
Just getting the house cleaned. I have four weeks left until my due date and I'm convinced I won't go that long. House is a mess and it's starting to make me panic.
I have nothing planned except the usual cleaning and laundry. I hope to hang out with some friends because I have been home every day this week instead of going to hang out with a friend one night, etc. My friend cancelled on me tonight.
I always thought the "nesting" would kick in for me toward the end, but it never happened. My house was a disaster when I went into labor. When we get ready for baby #2 I'm going to hire a cleaning service while we're in the hospital.
If my MIL wasn't so judgy, I wouldn't care, but she is so nosy that I wouldn't put it past her to come over to our house (finding some excuse that she *needs* something for Ry while he is there) while we are in the hospital, going through all of our rooms while she is at it. And then she will call everyone and tell them what slobs we are. It's bad.
I'm the same.way. My house will never look like a magazine, but it sure isn't DIRTY. Give me an hour (an hour of not being pregnant) and I can have it ready for company. That's why we never have them over and why DH has told them they aren't allowed to come over without calling first.

Well if you think you'll offend someone by confessing something, maybe it's best to keep it to yourself. But if you simply need to get something off your chest and telling internet friends is what will make you feel better.....
