Hope everyone had a wonderful 4th of July.
Where did you see fireworks?
How was the show?
Would you return next year?
What time did the fireworks start? end?
DH and I took the girls to the Bel Air to see fireworks this year. We explained to Annabelle that fireworks are loud and they go boom in the air. This year we decided to head to Bel Air and parked at the Harford Mall (about 100 or so other people thought it was a good idea too). They started at 9:30 and lasted maybe 20 minutes. I was a little disappointed that for the 4 or so year that they are at this small park in Bel Air (they use to be at the high school). Bel Air doesn't suggest where you should park to watch them. We were so far away that we couldn't hear the boom (which in hind sight was probably a good thing for both girls, it didn't seem to scare Annabelle and Caroline sleep right through them). I think next year I like to take them some place else.
Re: Fireworks poll
We didn't see them last night and I'm bummed. I really like fireworks and I have great memories as a child of going with the family to see them. DH hates them and hates traffic. I'm hoping one of these years he'll take me!
I did see some Saturday night though that people were setting off...and I heard plenty of them last night through the neighborhood. I wish Perry Hall had them somewhere. Fullerton is a cluster.
I saw the ones on tv last night that were in NYC...they were awesome!
We saw a few from our house, but didn't got anywhere. DD gets up pretty early and had already had a busy day at a b-day party/4th of July celebration, meeting family she hadn't seen in a while and going swimming. If we had gone, she would have stayed up and just been a hot mess
Eventually, we will start going back to see the fireworks in Catonsville at the high school. We live within walking distance, so that is probably how we will get there.
We live close enough that it's a long walk to Rockfiled Park. DH and Aiden walked to Safeway from our house and watched the fireworks from in front of the snowball stand. Driving is such a mess, and after it taking us an hour to get home (a mile) because of traffic, we won't drive again. I stayed home with Claire, who was fast asleep.
We used to be able to see some of the high ones from our house when they were at BAHS. Now I could only see the reflection of them. But my neighbors set a bunch off, so I did see something!

Where did you see fireworks? We went downtown to E's office building in Canton. His company is on the 5th floor and overlooks the Harbor.
How was the show? Meh, it was okay. I'm not really into fireworks. Some were pretty cool, but I can't say I was totally wow-ed.
Would you return next year? I have no idea. As mentioned above, I'm totally not into fireworks. But M was enchanted and E really likes them, so I feel like I should for the family memories factor. It was just so late, we'd had a really long day, and a-holes made getting out of Canton a biitch, so I was cranky by the time we got to 95.
What time did the fireworks start? end? 9:30-9:48
We saw the Columbia fireworks from the field of junior high school about 1/4 of a mile away from our house. It worked out really well and was the first time we've seen them in several years. They started around 9:15 and lasted for about 30 minutes. Right as the finale started DD said she wanted to go home, so we just packed up and went home - watched the finale while packing. We got home right before 10 adn I took DD to bed. I was very worried she'd be a mess (last night/this morning) but she was fine and she liked the fireworks. I'm glad we were at a distance so they were quieter, but we still had a pretty awesome view.
(DH is normally a pill about the fireworks and hates the traffic, critiques the fireworks, etc. but he was happy to see them and enjoyed seeing them w/ DD too - so it was all good for me!)
