Mom's- Dr. Navid Mootabar?

I am 39 weeks pregnant and need to switch doctor's immediately. I'm slightly high risk and hoping for a VBAC. I vaguely recall hearing good things about this doctor when I was pregnant with my son, 3 years ago. Does anyone have any experience with him, good, or bad?

Thanks!

    Hi there!

I am rarely online these days. I finished school and work as an OT in a rehab hospital. Hours are somewhat normal (7:30 to 4) but with the commute, the 3 year old and the pregnancy, I've got no time for the nest!

I'm due July 4th and yesterday was my last day of work until after the baby comes. So I've got a few minutes to kill here and there, lol.

    How are you?

  • i went to that practice but switched at 35 or so weeks....however, out of all the drs there, i liked him (and dr grecco) the best. i only saw him twice, but i thought he was great.  never felt rushed and he was very nice. always with a smile. hth

  • He's my dr and I really like him.  He was on vacation when I delivered so Dr Grecco delivered my son, but I've been very happy with Dr Mootabar. Everyone in the practice is good overall.  He's very friendly and always takes lots of time during my visits to answer my questions. He was the one who was willing to let me go past my due date and wait for things to happen naturally, but since he was on vacay, Grecco made the call to induce me on my due date (other option was a C).  I was sad that Mootabar wasn't there to back me up because I knew he would.

Good luck and I hope you get your VBAC!

  • I went to Grecco but didn't like him. That said he delivered 14 of 21 cousins.  I love Werbin- Silver,  she assisted in my last csection, she just returned from her maternity leave. Kang was my least favorite in that group.

  • I used to go to that practice. I will say I liked him best of the four. However I had ad a long labor the first time and the doctor I ended up with that day - Kang , suggested over and over again I go fora c-section before I finally gave in. Because of how I was treAted the first time and just other more subtle things over the course of the pregnancy- I did not feel they were very vbac friendly although they claimed to be.  I switched practices- DiStefano/Mendelowitz/Dinnall at Phelps. I had my second two months ago with them.  It was a failed vbac but we tried hard and they and the entire hospitAl were so supportive all along. I'm not sure if Phelps could do a high risk vbac- being a smaller community hospital vbacs need to be pre-Approved. But it's worth asking, I can't say enough good things about these doctors.
